If you have the program on the USB stick, you might be able to see what is preventing it from starting.

 

I don't. The only items on the usb are the install guides for UCON, gears, and thermostat. I talked with Gadget before I got the UCON to see if I could get the program to view data...he said he doesn't provide it because it would cause too many people calling him about how to interpret all the data. I can understand that as it would eat up much of his time preventing him from developing new stuff.

 

yea the cam gears dont seem too bad, I havnt looked up how to install a thermostat (dont even know the location??).

Gears aren't bad. A little more work if you have a 2012+ due to secondary air system but still not bad

wait.. so you have to Uninstall the BD tune before hooking up the UCON ? I thought the UCON would bypass any ECU calibration files ?

Yeah, it needs to be uninstalled.

 

Got on the phone with bd this afternoon and they said I was "uninstalled". Their definition of uninstalled means its still flashed with a tune for the sc, equivalent (in their opinion) to the TRD flash. They said that tune cannot be removed.

So, I installed the UCON and bam, love it. Like someone else said here recently, the difference is noticeable right at start up. It idles smoother. It also runs smoother, and quieter. Love it.
No WOT runs here, still have to change thermostat and cam gears. I know, should've waited on those but I just had to get the bd off there...

I left my bd plugged in because I like numbers like intake temp etc. and it was glitching out after the UCON install. I thought that was comical really but I can I run a ultragauge with a ucon?

You can definitely turn it on, it's only 3° different timing in the exhaust cams, but I would not drive it normally either before the gears.

You can use the Ultragauge but many numbers will be screwed because you are seeing the numbers from the ecu....those numbers are what the UCON has sent to the ecu to keep it happy. They are not the real numbers.
Some may be accurate like tranny temp and oat, etc, but AF ratio, timing, open/closed loop are probably not accurate.
