We've been going almost every year for about the last 35 and used the same house for a long time. Now that the house is getting paid off I wouldn't mind selling and moving somewhere down there. I'd probably have to give up alot depending on where we could buy but it's something to think about.

No, this is her fifth trip this year. As you may recall, her 92-year-old mother is in a nursing home and is slowly dying. I'd really rather she be here so we can have some quality time. She is so busy during the school year we never get anytime together. But she (understandably) can't neglect her mother either. :notsure:

I did it all! I had a wonderful day (othr than my daughter going back to school), we set off a couple thousand dollars worth of fireworks, and I ate way too much! After vacation last week and now the celebrations today I'm getting back on my diet

I'm still trying to get stuff together to be prepared for hopefully a little more serious wheeling and camping when I get healthy. I got all my emergency travel tools together and packed in a tote.

So far I've got a craftsman socket and wrench set in 1/4"-1/2" metric and standard, a full craftsman metric wrench set, a screwdriver/ nutdriver set, torque wrench, 2 c clamps, tire plug kit, high way emergency kit, air compressor, battery jumper pack, and a led work light. I think that's it. Now I need to start trying to locate an extra cv, u joints, and recovery gear. If I can start getting all this together I'll be doing good.
Rt now I've got the 650 torn down and need to get some service work done on it before anything big on the truck

So the afore mentioned quickfists and t-nuts were ordered. I also got a really good start on the Hilift mounts. I got them cut, broke, and the mounting holes drilled. All I have left on them is a test fit, figure out the actual mounting bolts for the jack, and paint. Hopefully this weekend I can get them done and start on the tool mounts. IDk what everybody else makes the Hilift mounts out of but I used 2" wide 1/8" steel.

    Nice on so many fronts!

I need to get a tidy way to transport tools and spares.

Drives me absolutely crazy that I have to carry both metric and standard tools. My '67 MGB had metric, standard, AND whitworth. I thought we had moved past this insanity.

Lowes has some heavy duty totes they put on sale occasionally. I'm going to try that first but I leave the tools in their cases and pack in totes. I don't have spare anything yet I need to start accumulating some items and recovery gear. My thought is to keep things compact and compartmentalized for ease of packing and allowance for camping gear
