Cool. I just wanted to make sure you weren't just defaulting to "it doesn't work right, let's throw some parts at it and see what happens"

My check engine light came on for the 1st time ever on Wed. Pulled the gas cap off and puff or :burp:, the smell of gas was very predominate! Put the cap back on and before I even got home my CEL was off

Moral to the story, make sure to put your gas cap on correctly

Eh I see people drive with the gas cap hanging off the car all the time. I just figured it was for the thrill...?

Never had this issue with any car I've had. One even had a cracked gas line, never set off an engine light.

I love Trader Joe's. Closest one to me is in Hadley which is over an hour drive.

A while back we got an Aldi, which is owned by the same company, but it's like a cheap discount grocery store. We already have a Price Rite and a BJs for that purpose. Wish we got a Trader Joe's instead.

I typically split my shopping between Stop and Shop and BJs. A Big Y is actually closest to me, but I can't stand those stores.

I find Aldi is better than price right, though not as big of a selection

I have never been there. Been to Price Rite a long time ago, but not recently.

I'm partial to Stop and Shop for a lot of things. I think they're reasonably priced and the stores are well maintained and laid out sensibly. I buy my perishables and more unique things there and anything I can buy in bulk I get at BJs.

Can't seem to wake up fully today. Last night around midnight the hose on my portable AC blew out of the window unit. Woke up to hot, humid exhaust air blowing into the room. So I re-attached it. Half hour later, same thing happened. Then it happened around 2, again. By then I was pretty fed up with it, so I duct taped the hose to the window unit and worked fine the rest of the night.

Sounds like a big hose clamp would solve that problem. Tractor Supply has them.

I had my gas cap on and the door shut but I guess I didn't wait to hear the click or something because as soon as I opened it I got a rush of gas smell. I let it air out for a few moments before reinstalling the cap and like I said it shut the light off by itself

True, but it was neat to see how much that preventative maintenance costs especially for people who haven't done it before/ aren't mechanically inclined. He could flip the truck for $10K if he wanted to now. And good to know, thanks!
