It's unbelievable that he hasn't died yet. Goes to show what a good job modern sailboat manufacturers do of making their ships hard to sink...

 

Fiberglass is pretty tough. It helps he has been drifting in the pacific in a calmer current. If he actually was capable of sailing around Cape Horn or in the North Atlantic he would be 150% dead by now. Really it's a matter of time, when his donated gps transmitter runs out he is dead.

 

Yeah, but with the amount of time that he's spent adrift, I'm surprised he hasn't run into a storm strong enough to sink him. Especially since he clearly doesn't know how to sail, so he wouldn't know how to rig a storm sail and run with the storm, etc.

 

This guy doesn't even take his sails off. He lets them get ripped to shreds and he somehow gets them together. Somehow people keep donating him new sails (probably so he will leave their island) and he gets towed out and drifts away.

But there is no real answe why/how he is alive still. People keep donating shit via Facebook.

actually down here, there are multiple places that give swamp tours, and thats basically how the tour guides earn their living...actually been to a couple myself. on one tour, i learned some interesting history in Louisiana swamps. other tour sucked and didn't really teach me anything
