285/75R17 Tire Options

It seems like 285/70R17 has nearly endless possibilities, though the larger 285/75R17 get's no love.

I'm looking for a good AT (not MT) tire in the 285/75R17 size. Would like it last about 50k and would prefer not to break the bank -- I was actually looking into the treadwright brand for that reason but it doesn't seem like they carry this size.

Some options I've found are the following:

Falken Wildpeak A/T3W
Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX
Nitto Terra Grappler
Nitto Ridge Grappler


Any others to add to the list? Any recommendations based on these criteria?

 

I have the Falkens in that size on my Tundra (similar size to tacoma) and I love them. Great on road and haven't had any big issues on the limited trails I've been on. They have close to 14k and still look almost brand new. Also they are cheap and you can use the tread lightly discount to get $100 off.

No it's through discount tire. You pay $50 for a tread lightly membership (good to support regardless) and you get a $100 falken rebate and a $50 discount tire rebate. After the membership it's $100 back.

 

how does one go about setting this up? I am on discount tire now with the falkens in cart. I must not be seeing the tread lighty membership anywhere.

 

You go through tread lightly to get the discount. Once you sign up with tread lightly they will send you a packet in the mail with the discount and falken rebates. You fill those out and send them in. It's unrelated to your discount tire purchase besides the $50 rebate you get from Tread Lughtly. I can't find the page anymore but I believe you have to do the $50 membership for the discounts. It used to be the $25 but they upped it.
