If you are using some form of aftermarket bluetooth connected to your headunit, do you find it was worth the cost?

Im putting in a new headunit next week and have been going back and forth on whether or not its worth it to get the Pioneer add-on ($150) to have bluetooth right in the vehicle. Funny enough at the moment, I cant even seem to find a list of working phones for the unit so I'm not sure that my Sprint Blackberry will work.

That being said, it seems like a nice convenience, but with the mixed reviews on all the aftermarket addon parts for Pioneer, Alpine, etc...well...dunno.

For those of you who have onboard bluetooth, was it worth it? Would just getting the in-ear headset for over have the price be a better option? Thoughts?

I have the Pioneer Z110BT with the built in bluetooth and love it. I added the bluetooth phone steering wheel controls and the SWI-PS so I can control it from the steering wheel and it works flawlessly. I just leave the bluetooth on my iphone activated and it connects automatically every time I get into the truck. Much nicer than digging in my pocket with the seatbelt fastened every time I get a call. Plus my contacts and everything are listed right there on the 7" touchscreen. I highly recommend it!

BT is main reason I changed out my HU. Got the Z110BT with the steering controls also. I think every penny was worth it.

    I've lost count....
I have the Pioneer CD-BTB200 Bluetooth Adapter hooked up to my Pioneer AVH-4100DVD and I really like it. Sometimes if I had the stereo cranking or the windows down I wouldn't even hear my phone ring....now when my phone rings the stereo automatically cuts the music out and I see who is calling on my headunit's screen. You can even transfer your phone's contacts to the unit. And of course, being hands free is great as well.

I installed the Bluetooth Adapter in my center console:

I installed Bluetooth Microphone above the driver side A-pillar:

Where did you get the buttons from to add them to the steering wheel? I just ordered a new HU and the PAC SWI-JACK to integrate the volume and other buttons on left side, but I would love to add the bluetooth buttons to the right side if possible.

-- edit: I found another thread that has the part numbers listed and where to order the buttons and cables. Comes out to $100 for both.

i have an alpine iva-w505 headunit and the bluetooth with the appine nve-p1 navigation. It's very easy to use and very clear and it link right up to my phone every time i get into the truck without me ever pushing a button. I can also scroll through my phone book on the double din. I love it, plus here in nys it's illegal to talk on the phone n drive, 150 fine

I love the way my bluetooth works in my Eclipse AVN-726E, here in ontario it recently became agaist the law to drive and talk on the cell phone, but i love it, music mutes automaticly and you decide if you want to awnser or not, syncs as soon as you get in the truck, you can upload your contact list to it.
