    When you turn it up does the sound go away? Did you ever run the radio with an extremely high swr for any length of time? It is highly possible on that little radio it is electrical interference from the cigarette lighter, straight to battery might take it away which the new radio will help with. If you wanted to give one a try though they make electrical noise filters for power wires

    Thanks, I'll have to check with the new radio. I have thought about noise filters and even ferrite beads as my HIDs make my cb go crazy....

    Yeah those can cause a lot of radio interference too, straight to battery is the most efficient way to do things. However you can get static when connected to the battery of you have multiple things connected to it as well, so keep that in mind. It's called dirty power and happens when too many things are stacked on the battery and running, if you go straight to battery connected your HID's to an add a circuit and putting them on your headlight fuse or somewhere like that might give you a cleaner signal with them on

    Well at some point I am just gonna have to settle, the HIDs have a relay harness that pulls straight from battery, so I dont think Ill be getting rid of that interference unless i change my light setup. But I figure that this brake booster noise was way more annoying and harder to mitigate. Its easier to turn off my headlights than stop braking lol

    Well if that's the case you might could try the add a circuit on the cb power, put the power to the fuse box instead. This is an add a circuit by the way

    I have close to the same thing. I use the Wilson antenna mag mount. Use the cigarette lighter. And no issues.both swr was 1.2

    So I just went out side and ripped my ground out, and my SWR actually went down a little to 1.9 and 1.8 on channel 1 and 40 respectively. Any thoughts. I don't think this is a NGP setup and there is paint covering my mount so I have no idea how it's getting a ground

    try connecting the ground directly to the bolt holding on the mount, don't take off any paint. On cb mounts there's different layers, the ones on the outside and inside. As long as it's connected on the bolt it can reach the inside of the metal and will improve your swr significantly, you don't have to take off any paint though

    Also, I am only getting about 5 ohms of resistance on the main pass thru bolt on the cb fire ring setup. I wonder if there is a loose connection in the fire ring. I thought that the bolt should be a positive reading

    and now I am getting continuity from ground all the way to the spring and antenna. well crap haha.

    I guess when I tightened stud down, it got caught or something. I shouldn't get any reading of continuity on the lower side of the ring. I'm getting about 5 ohms all the way up the antenna

    No make sure that u have all the rings and all in the right spot. It shows that the ground plane should be the only thing grounded. DON'T GROUND TO THE ADAPTER ITSELF.
