Grounding a CB antenna in composite bed

    I was asking the OP. Wasn't sure if the end that goes to the cb was the type that u solder the end. Then screw the connector to the cb.

    I am going to try and tune the antenna see if I can't get my SWR low enough. If I can't, I'll relocate the antenna. Should I try a larger gauge ground strap?

    Man you don't need a ground strap just run a 14 gauge wire to the frame and solder on some connectors

    He has a major grounding issue, I wonder if something is wrong with one of the connections on the wire? Maybe it was where he connected it to on the frame?

    I don't think that's the problem. I say a GND issue or possibly RF cable??? Also, do NOT "kink" your radio cables.

    I would check ALL cables, GND points, and make sure there are no shorts between center conductor and GND for the RF cable!!!
