Thanks, Matthew! That's a big comment given some of the amazing trucks on here with a lot more time and money into them. I really appreciate it! I've tried to keep it simple and tasteful. I'm really happy with it. I catch myself looking back at my truck an embarrassing amount whenever I get out of it :D

I really love your truck and am using this thread to help build my truck as well :p btw, love your truck man.

Just a quick question, are you planning on doing a lift to it?

Thanks! Nice of you to say! Happy to help with any questions

No plans for a lift. I got roughly an inch of lift with the larger tires. I'm really happy with the look, ride comfort, and on/offroad performance of my stock Sport suspension with larger KO2 tires. Lifts can be expensive if done properly (which is the only way to do it IMO on a $35k truck), put additional wear and tear on other components, and cause the dealer to no longer honor the warranty for various components. Definitely not knocking trucks with lifts, there are a lot on here I'm jealous of that look amazing. Just not in the plans for me personally I don't think.

Wanted to say great job on the truck! looks phenomenal, and the documentation is impeccable (i'm an engineer). Best thread i've seen on a build, simple and clean!

I go a few months at a time without doing anything to my truck and then I return to this build....and suddenly I get the urge to do all the things again. Your truck is looking amazing man!

Hey, where did you get the exhaust tip? You said it was OEM?

Yup, OEM Toyota! From my parts manager at my local dealership. Part # is PT932-35162. List price is $75.90, I paid $51.75 + tax but free shipping (local pickup in 1-2 days). I had them pricematch Toyota of Cool Springs online price. Toyota of Cool Springs or Toyota of Olathe normally have the best online prices and your local dealership should pricematch. I've had them do it for countless parts.

After a few months of leaving it chrome which is how it comes, I sanded it and painted it satin black with high temp engine enamel paint. I like the black look a lot more. Only thing that's still chrome on the truck is the lug nuts! (I think..)

Did you get your pro tails the same way you got your exhaust tip? Did you just print out the online price and have your dealership match?

This is a great mod. Cheap, DIY, and looks awesome. Any change to the exhaust note? Did you ever consider a TRD PRO exhaust or aftermarket?

Yup, all OEM parts! Which has been a decent amount. I just email the parts manager a screenshot of the shopping cart or a link. I've ordered everything from them via email and picked up the next day. I'm sure printing it out and going in person would work as well, I'm just lazy and only want to go once. List for the tails are $196.99 each I think. I paid $130.22 each plus tax.

    Part numbers are:
    81550-04200
    81560-04200

No change of sound that I noticed and no performance gain, purely cosmetic. I think it's a nice touch though. I haven't really considered any OEM or aftermarket exhaust kits due to the steep price and marginal (in my opinion) performance gains. Only exhaust mod I've considered is a reroute due to how low it crosses over on the 3rd gens which would be super cheap at a muffler shop. It would help with ground clearance and allow for a more flush skid plate install
