Ah so during daytime you will not have DRL or any light presence.

That's the parking lights symbol. Same as DRLs, but with the addition of rear running lights being on as well as front (DRLs are only front). It also dims interior lights (radio or touchscreen brightness) and turns on dash lights, like the headlight position.

I sealed the whole seam including the fastener holes on the back. I live in a really dry climate but I've had bad luck with cheaper aftermarket lights in the past.

Maybe I misread what your saying but with my lights at least. When I'm in the DRL mode I literally have no lights on at all. Not even the turn signal bulbs.

Also apparently the sport has a different light switch than the OR?

Parking lights light up everything though (except low beams ofc)

Here's what the depo tails look like btw

I'd like if the black in the housing was more of a matte or satin finish rather than the piano black but they still look pretty good.

I love the dry climate. My area sees about 8-10 inches of rainfall per year. In June, we kept seeing humidity around 6 or 7%. After living on the coast of NC for 13 years, NM is like heaven.

That switch is where the confusion is then. Sorry, I thought you were trolling. Mine (a TRD sport) and LastShot's truck have a 3-position switch. The position labeled 'off' is the DRL position. That must be the wiring for which this light was designed, because his seems to work as intended. The offroad is wired differently, and has a 4-position switch (is what you're saying), which is probably why some people are losing some lighting functions.

It's a model year thing not a model type thing. The 2013-2015 Tacomas (ALL) have the Off position below the DRL on the light stalk.

My '13 is not an OR but has the 4 positions.

My 2014 SR5 has the 4 positions, but the DRL is the same as the off position -- it does nothing.

    Interesting...
    For me...
    Off - no lights
    DRL - just the DRLs
Parking - DRLs and parking lights
Lights - everything... DRLs, parking lights, headlights

My 12 has three positions. Currently off means drls are on. So these lights, the bar will still stay lit even in off position?

@Teacher Matt 's profile says he has a 2013 (same year as mine), and it looked like in his picture (above) that he has only 3 positions (Off, Parking and low beams/highbeam)... while mine has off/drl/parking/low-high, hmmm.

Mine is a 13 with the 4 position switch and in the OFF position and the DRL position there are no lights on. Looks like the other guy with the 3 position switch had lights on however.

It must have been a mid-model year change.

My truck is also a 12. I posted pictures showing what lights are on corresponding with each switch position.
