Took my truck in dealership said it can be 1 to 2 months before I get it back. Gave me a RAV4 as a rental.
Bummed out I'm not gonna be able to take the taco camping but the way I look at it at least I'm not putting miles on my truck and don't have to worry about the rear diff being damage overtime.

Oh son of a bitch. While installing my spring under kit I noticed my diff has a slight leak. My 15k is coming up.

I'm going to try and clean it with brake clean and hope the dealer doesn't see it. :anonymous:

I had your same exact situation with my Offroad but after they tightened the bolts and cleaned the area I had to go out of town for about a month and have not driven the truck much since so there's no more seepage but I'm waiting to see if it comes back. If it does I'm going to have the same argument with them.

"Lucky one" how lucky is it to have your truck in prison for 61 days? That's not luck that sucks! However, the Service Writer did say keep an eye on the fix for leaks so this may not be over yet! More drama ahead?

Very possible. SA mentioned that the tech broke two studs while torquing after the gasket replacement. I have an FAA issued A&P mechanic's license that says I'll never give them the benefit of the doubt again. I'll watch it myself. A 67 day hard lesson learned.

It's been since may 4th that my truck has been here and i finally got an explanation as to what is taking so long for the parts to come in. Photo will show the items circled in black that are "back ordered".

ETA is undetermined on the actual fix and when the parts will be shipped to San Francisco (closest distributor)

Simple principle in operation here. Right now it is your problem, not theirs. You think it is their problem but it is not. They already have enough problems with the recall and have no desire to take on your problem. The easy answer is make it their problem. Call corporate again, get the name of the person you are talkng to, and tell them that if they don't approve fixing your truck as a warranty problem you are sending pictures and a complaint to the NHTSA asking them to expand the recall to ALL 2016 and 2017 Tacomas as the ones in the recall list are not the only ones affected. Tell them that shortly after contacting the NHTSA you will email the CEO with their name letting him know that they personally were responsible for the expansion of the recall costing the corporation millions. See if that gets anyone's attention.
