I'm pretty sure you can keep your key. It's been a while, but I think the lock assembly is separate.

They should be able to rekey a new core for you so you can keep using your key.

That's a bit of a stretch. There are plenty of people here that work on their (not there) trucks that know just enough to be dangerous, myself included. And it's not just this thread where your assertion applies.

You're more than welcome to ask a technical question in a forum meant for sharing your truck-related accomplishments (and BSing), but you really don't have a right to get irritated if people don't respond. They don't respond because they're not here to answer questions. They're here look at what people have done to their trucks.

You'd probably have better luck (and more exposure) if you post your questions in 1st Gen Tacoma (1995-2004) or in a thread where the subject matter is relevant.

    Carry on.

Yeah the lock assembly is separate. I found it in the bottom of my door panel this afternoon. The lock looks fine from the outside, but the internals are mangled I guess because the lock doesn't actuate like it should. Guess I'm headed to the dealer to see how much they want for a lock.... yay

My technique is to create a new/unique thread replete with a relevant title and keywords in the first post.

If that doesn't get a hit I'll then chime in this thread, with a link to the aforementioned thread, and ask for assistance with my problem.

People are correct in that a post asking for help can easily get lost in this thread.

    Just my two pennies.

If I wasn't just some craptastic temp mod, seriously @jberry813 I'd be like a zillon times better, would have already created a sub forum for just this, it would be called "dirty pool answers questions and other people are allowed to answer only if they know for fucking sure what the Fuck they're talking about".

And I'm waiting on the acceptance of my addoption....

I have no pics but I pulled my ac condenser today. Maybe I'll do a how to since I couldn't find any decent ones with pics still available. Though it wasn't very difficult.

Just did this on my '06 Highlander. Surprisingly easy. Spent the bucks on a new OEM condenser.

Lights are acting funky. Something got wet and was grounding out the left turn signal wouldn't go off at all if the truck was running it was lit up solid and if I turned my flashers on everything but the headlights flashed with them

Gonna swap some nonsense from the rolled truck today. Probably gonna pull my tranny, then after that I'll remove my transmission. :cookiemonster:
Maybe I'll do some engine stuff too.

Almost a guarantee that's the towing harness. Mine did that when the diode pack shorted out.
