so the issue I'm having is this, I will be driving down the road at speeds 40 mph and up, press the the brakes slightly before heading into a right corner suddenly the ABS will kick in and lock the wheels up before doing the ABS pulse thing... luckily for me It has only done this to me a few times and it has been when the roads were dry. However it could be catastrophic if the roads were wet, snowy, icy...

    Anyone ever experience something similar?

Is this a thing with Tacomas?

whoah! i was just looking to post this very same issue. i've had my 2015 since early April and it has happened twice, just like you described. don't know what could be causing it. it happens at moderate speeds 40-50 mph, on right turns that are slightly declined... very strange. would love to know more about this.

    Just a couple things
ABS is dumb. Do a kill switch. Very debated topic on this forum. But I don't like how sensitive it is. So I have a switch I wired in to kill it most of the time.

no, the tires that came with it are 265 75R 16s. i bought it used, and it looks like it has a front leveling kit, but nothing looks aftermarket in the suspension area and no spacers, maybe it's just how the TRD Sports look?

Sounds like your VSC is kicking it like @IronPeak said above.
Scary shit when it happens, but can be fixed easily.

Not much yet, but do have Flowmaster exhaust, with Rockford Fosgate P600.1Bd 600 RMS Mono amp for my 12" P3 with custom box and a Punch P400-4 Four Channel amp for my mids and highs running 100 watts per channel and have two speakers on each channel, not to mention 6 more hooked to the 4 channels from the headunit as well....Hopefully soon will be a body lift with new tires, and eventually the actual suspension...
Yeah, Tacoma's suck for traction...if I don't go around a corner suuupper slow, I'll spin out every time. I've spun, like fully spun about 5 times...

Regardless of how much tire tread is left, what is the age of the tires - and is the vehicle parked outside uncovered during the day (so is it exposed to continuous UV)? My 2011 sits outside and bakes its tires every day - I've found that after just 2 and half years, even though I have about 5/32nds remaining (and never spinning the tires), I need to be conservative in moderate rain and not drive like it a BMW (which you can do with the right highway tires). Also on dry and hot days, the tires don't feel like they stick as well as they used to even though there is still lots of tread-feels like I get a bit of wheel slip on in parking lots with stone dust accumulation. And also last winter, I didn't like the truck steering feedback on unpacked snow without any bed-weight...so I'm already thinking about needing tires for the upcoming winter - which will be a full tire replacement exactly at 3 years. Maybe your issue is related to tire tread and tire age?

I don't have any ABS issues in the dry - sometimes feel a minor ABS action in the wet if I'm braking harder than necessary.
