Built some bumpers for a Trooper. :cookiemonster: Still need to add the interior light bezels on the front. Rear lights are grommet mount.

Has anyone run the ESAB Rebel 215i? I'm thinking about picking up the all in one mig/tig/stick package.

At this time I would not wish anything made by Esab or the companies they just bought on anyone.

I have brand new machines that failed out of the box waiting on parts over 2 months,.

The bad part is while the welder sits your warranty is counting down as well

Older Esab units waiting well over 2 months.

I have several distributors telling me they are done selling Esab at least for now

Yep and speed squares work great for metal fabrication as well. These jigs will do the same thing, but make fabbing a little easier.

Any recommendations for a recreational welder I could use in my garage that won't break the bank. Maybe weld up a bumper for myself after learning some things.
I used a friends welder once and I'm itching for some more welding fun haha

I had it since Nov last year. Great machine. Only bought it to redo my swap in the home garage. It's for sale on Craigslist for 1000. Has upgraded Miller 15' whip specially made for it

I decided against the ESAB for two main reasons.

    1. I evaluated how often I would really need/want to TIG weld and decided I didn't need the TIG feature.

    2. I really didn't want to spent $1500+ and still have to spent more on a gas cylinder and welding cart.

I ended up getting a Hobart 210 MVP at northern tool after they price matched an out of state retailers sale and took another $50 coupon. It welds really nice and I like the ability to switch voltage.

If you want to come test it out give me a shout.

I'm just going come out and say it. Multi purpose machines are not worth it.

MIG welding is by far the most useful type of welding.

I can stick and TIG weld, but am not going to bother with those styles. I still learn something new with regards to MIG welding and I've been doing it over 25 years. I consider myself very skillful, but am not arrogant enough to call myself a master. I know I will AWAYS have room for improvement of my MIG welding skills.

I am not going to take the time improve my skills TIG or stick welding.

Anyone who wants to hobby weld has no need for TIG or stick weld. I encourage hobby welding, but I want you to spend time on something that will give a decent payoff.

I will easily help someone learn to MIG weld and have had people over to my shop several times to see if they want to learn to MIG weld.

I will never offer to help teach someone to TIG weld. That is just an unrealistic request.

I tend to agree on the Hobby level of welding for the multiprocess machines .

Myself I enjoy my Multiprocess machines then I still do quite a lot of stick welding nice to just switch from the feeder to the stinger and go out 150'

I have all the equipment to Tig weld other then one stainless job about 5 years ago it just sits there and keep saying I am going to practice but never think of it till later

If someone wants to learn to tig weld I always start them in oxy-fuel welding first funny how quick they decide it is not for them

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
I don't know how to TIG, but I've never needed it for what I weld. I'd probably pay someone to tig something if I needed it. But I never have, I have a huge stick welder, Miller Bobcat 225, and a Miller 252 mig welder, I pretty much only use the mig. The stick I can use, but my welds aren't nearly as nice as the mig.
What I'm saying is mig is just so much easier, prep, point and shoot.

These are just a few projects around the ranch, nothing require absolute precision, just has to work and not break.
