    hello,

    I just put 275x60x18 tires on my 2016 ( stock )

going forward, I have no rub, very small amount of clearance

but when is reverse, ill rub alittle

the truck is basically new, so I would rather not buy the bilstein shocks yet shocks yet ( I hear this offers about 1.5 in lift )

I believe I'm looking towards a leveling kit, any recommendations?
I see them as cheap as 50$ and up to 200$

    I applicate any help

They are not highly recommended here. However if you are not hammering the trails and are mainly on the street you will be fine with it.

You just bought a new truck. Don't waste your time being cheap. Get the bilsteins, spacers suck.

noted, I'm only 2WD so I wont be hitting trails toooooo hard

ill look into the bilsteins alittle more.

why don't we like the leveling kit? I was told it wont effect the ride quality, I appreciate all input.
I'm fairly new to this

i used moto fab spacers in the front and they have been fine so far. go with something small like a inch. i went 2 inches and it gave me to much lean. had to lift the rear to be happy.

IF I wanted to go the bilstien 5100 route.......

is all I need the shocks? nothing else necessary?

as I said, all I want is an inch or 2 extra clearance for my tires

Thus the problem you now have to spend more money to 'fix'.

No one ever said mall crawling was cheap.

So, what are you rubbing in reverse? Cutting, reshaping or removal are all potential options

Check out @HeadStrong Off-Road they have a nice set of front spacers, add about an inch of lift, and you can easily install yourself at the house. look up 1/2 strut spacers. They add 1" lift (yes sounds odd that 1/2 spacer adds 1")

From my reading they will ride like stock and not hinder you in any way. if you go over about 2 inches with a spacer is where you may get problems.

thank you sir, applicate the help.

The more I think about it, I'm not as opposed to going the bilstein route.
is the ride quality noticeably better?

Leveling kit will make ride worse. The Billy's handle really well off and on road.

All that money into that truck and you want to slap $50 spacers on it? Do it right and do it once.

By all means he is right here. But for those who do not have a grand laying around and wanting something for a while until they save up, spacers are just fine. That is what I am doing. 100$ out of pocket, gives me the look I want, rides great, and will get me by just fine until tax season. Ive seen guys run spacers for 80k miles before having to repace a thing, and that is just due to usual lifespan of struts. If a person is wanting to do off roading, then there is no cheap out, you need to get a set of quality struts, coils, and the rear end components to go with it, if you are wanting to lift.

the 1" spacer does not hinder your front end, it stays straight, and the shocks do not lose noticeable travel motion.

as far as the bilstien 5100s go, if I just got the shock set looks to be around 400$

do I need anything else like coils? or can I just bolt on, and achieve my desired ride height as well as having an upgraded ride quality?

again, I just wanted to thank everyone on their input, it really is appricated

You can get just the front bills and adjust the height setting. You will need to see which model you order and read up on which notch will give you what added height. For a bit more you can get OME coilds, the 884 885 886 ect and leave the bills on the lowest setting and still get whatever lift depending on which coil you order.

Each coil has a different stiffness to add more lift or less. Also will make the ride feel smoother or stiffer.

Someone will need to add to my reply and verify which ones are which as I am not that familiar. I think the 884 and 5 will be softer then the 886 or 7.

But short answer, yes you can just get the front shocks and use stock coils. probably adjust the shock to the 2nd or 3rd setting. you will need to read which setting adds what lift.

good deal, didn't realize I just needed the fronts, that saves like 200$ right there.

so just to be clean, ( forgive my ignorance )

on my stock truck, I can just change out the front shocks, and effectively " level" the front end, to clear my tires.

if this is the case, I believe I have found the route I'm going.

    thanks a ton!

Yes, the rear really only needs changed if you are lifting the rear. from my understanding the stock rear shocks vs the 5100 ones are pretty much the same thing, the 5100 just allows you lift the back.
