I was wondering if anyone had information on when the dealers will be able to get the XM receiver kit for the new 09's. When I ordered my Taco we didnt realize we could get XM from the factory...only to notice when it came in that it was prewired but we can't get the receiver yet....any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah we talked about it right before I took delivery last week and I checked in with them today. They said that they know its coming but just not sure when.....hrmm...so I guess if you had one from the factory and it went bad for whatever reason they would have to wait too. Just seems a bit odd that they put a product out but cant get the parts in the even they had to replace it. Was hoping someone on the "inside" might have a time frame other than its coming...sometime..
Just have to wait and see I guess!

I'm taking delivery of mine first thing next week and I've heard that we may be able to use Sirius with this antenna as well. I'm planning on installing an Eclipse deck which is supposed to be OEM for Toyota so I don't know why they went with XM before Sirius, oh well, we'll have to wait and see.

You can also follow this thread about the Antenna location info -

    Good Luck!

We 09 owners may be wired for the Sirius/XM but you have to have the JBL option for the free introductory period per the brochure and the dealer I worked with.

I want to know, and only time will tell, how can we hook up a gps system to the antenna? Now that would be awesome!

I figured it wouldn't work easily. Would be nice if we could use it as such. I don't have nor want/need Sat Radio

Checked on the recievers and they are $199 and are available at dealers now.

My question on top of this one is since the tacoma is prewired and includes the antenna, how hard will it be to install the reciever? My dealer wanted $330 in labor to put it in. Any additional info or help out there would be great if someones got it. Thanks!!

And I should clarify, they weren't sure how long it would take to install the reciever cuz they've never done one so they are quoting on the high side.

Does it have to be OEM??? I would think a good car stereo shop could hook one up and for cheap since it is already wired. Check aftermarket. It's worth a look.
