Just got back from Cleghorn, main road was easy as usual. Couple spots here and there shifted and theres a few late rocks on that side if the roads at a couple of spots.

 

Thanks for the heads up brotha. Did you run it today? I'm excited to Off Road if for the 1st time. Going to take my buddy that just moved to LA today. He has a Jeep and has Off Roading experience so I feel a bit more comfortable that I won't be alone .

 

I literally just got home from running it haha. Got there around sunset, was a fun date. Honestly you have nothing to worry about I went alone and I'm 2wd without a locker and I had no issues. Just stick to the main road and you'll be A okay, you can do some of the side shoots but walk them first. Some seem easy at first but end rough.

 

Wish I could Off Road one of these bad boys. #DoAllTheChutes

 

. I haven't seen any on the trails but where I live there's a handful of military surplus vehicles around, especially 6x6s

 

Thanks a lot for the heads up. I'll stick to the main road and have my friend with a lifted Jeep try relatively easy chute that we will both walk through first. I don't feel comfortable trying out a chute without more experienced people there to guide me.

 

These things are a blast to drive around in. You can't see anything immediately in front of you for about 5-10 feet and they are stupid fast for there weight. Wayyyyy better than Humvees. I would love to own a Duce and a half.

 

You said this will be your first time off roading right? Or at least in the taco. After a few trips and your first scratches you'll be itching to go out and fly through some trails all the time like many of us on here hahaha

My first time out I went super slow up a easy hill. Now I go pedal to the metal and drift when I can, I'm crazy hahaha

Yup first time. I have a feeling I will too, Lol. The Taco life has spoken and it is good. I'm just glad I live relatively close to trails.

 

Look into Stoddard Wells, it's nearby Barstow. Really fun place with a lot of open land to go fast and nearby hills to crawl. Went out with some friends a couple weeks ago and I drifted non stop... Oh and lots of donuts

 

That sounds like a blast. I too would be down for this magical place called "Stoddard Wells" lol I'm off Mon-Tuesday which is good and bad because most meets are on the weekends. But good because if I want to go somewhere it won't be crowded.

 

Haven't found a shop that is too confident in under taking the task and I don't want to risk putting my daily out of commission. So still poking around for a good shop to do it

New member and just found this thread. Here is my 2017 DCSB I4 2wd tacoma. Ive taken it out a few times (borrego) and have been pleased with it so far. I grew up in the desert, and rock crawling so i have high expectations. Most likely will trade it in on a 4x4 in the next few years, but it does great for now! I live in escondido and am always down to go exploring!
