    Gonna prep the truck for the new build.
    Gonna Prep it for CLAMPED 20kw on 4 15s SS no wall class
    As I'm a distributor for Singer alternators, ill be sporting the best in the industry. Same with the 80AH JY power Lithium with 5x 6 bank Maxwell 2.7v 3000F caps. Its about as good as you can get, well i could add another 80AH but thats not in the budget.

    Ya, the way I understand it electrons travel most efficiently on the outside of the individual wire strands - so the more strands the more current the wire can carry (relative distances considered).

    So why dont they make a hollow tube in the center and line the outside with many tiny strands then coat?

    The action of elections flowing on the surface is called the skin effect, and is a result of the frequency and the magnetic field generated by the current in the conductor. DC current has no frequency and thus has no skin effect. As far as hollow tubes go, they are used often in high voltage AC installations. t. As far as stranded vs solid, if you can trust the manufacture, the surface area in a stranded #12 will be the same as a solid #12.
