I've also changed the front diff oil. Still clear even after 217 000 km. Magnet had some shavings on it but nothing crazy. What a mess to put back oil in with the pump tho! I guess my pump is cheap af! Will need a better one!

Looks good fella. No damage to outer area of the seal and looks to be seated flush all around.

Did you happen to give yourself a little extra "umph" and put a little RTV around the back of the seal before installing?

Shavings in diff very normal, hence the manget. Worry when you pull the plug and pull a string of shavings out with it.

Don't cheap out on a lift kit. Do it once. Do it right. Spend the $.

Gm! Sorry we had some visitors yesterday so didn't visited TW. People were already there and I wasn't done with the truck lol gf was pissed

Thanks! I did a little puck on the seal while using the small piece of wood... But nothing to worry I think, no leaks this morning lol

I did put oils on the seal before trying to put it there, nothing worse than going dry

:sorry: Didn't want to bother you with my little bitty life lol! Welcome to the Thread!

Thanks! IMO paying for labor is a waste of money when you can learn to do it yourself. I know my limits and won't crack open the transmission but a seal is a good challenge ;) thanks for joining the thread!

    GM!:hattip:

    Try to do my best!

I am close to know how to navigate with the stars!

A late GM here for people following this slow thread lol

Said earlier this morning in @EatSleepTacos thread that I was looking at 3rd gen for future reference, but "forgot" to say that I was also looking at F-150:anonymous: .... don't know what to think about myself... lol but seriously I think I'll stay in the used market for the $, and used mean Tacomas since a used american is not as much reliable than a Toyota

Can't argue with you in the fact the F 150's really do look good. Just can't get past the reliability personally!

Same here! wasn't really a Ford fan before but since they release the 2016 my opinion changed! and that 5.0L is kinda the shit right now. Ecoboost is not my cup of tea

Damn me! My seal seems to be leaking again!!!:annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

Tomorrow I'll shop for a tool kit to put the seal back instead of using what's laying around... and maybe a seal puller if they are not too pricy... there is many ways to pull them but with a puller the chances to damaged something are reduced

There was also some oil on my filter, but it was dark like the old I flushed saturday... might be some residue... or I tighten the filter too much... :notsure:

That's frustrating as hell! What kind of oil filter are you using?
