I don't see a lot of 3rd gens on the road.

Yep. Like there are more BMW's in CA that the other 49 states combined.

Wow! Did many of you think I was trying to start an arguenent or something? Sure sounds that way! I was merely making a comment that on a 800 mile trip I was surprised to see so few 3rd gens. Many of you guys a just a tad to touchy. God forbid every comment isn't praising the 3rd gen. It's a fricken truck.

I'll add I did see one TRD Pro today in town. A little town called Sutherlin right off the 5 between Medford and Eugene. Kinda surprised since most people in this area can't afford a pot to piss in. So I'm up to seeing seven, (eight if you count mine). Now I'm up to seeing 1 every 100 miles. Anyone want to argue about that?

I agree - I'm in the Seattle area too and there are a lot of Gen 3's on the road. Think of it this way - How many Gen 2's are still on the road- the ratio will be very tilted in that direction for several years as the Gen 3's catch up in terms of total numbers. Reminds me of years ago a friend ask me when VW was going to come out with a new model - He was unable to tell the small differences they made every year. Example for Taco was the change to LED's in the tail lights for the Gen2 - Truck looked the same to the average bear.

The ugly ass 3rd gen grills can be seen a mile away and if you miss the stamped tailgate, we'll .....youre just not a person interested in vehicles. The best looking 3rd gen I seen was a blacked out MGM with a Pro grill, black badges, windows tinted dark, black wheels and no decals. What a great looking truck.

I don't think people thought you wanted to start an argument, just that it's kind of a dumb observation.

There's 11 years worth of Gen 2s of course you saw lots more of them. The 2016s outsold every other previous year.

I'll usually see about at least 3 3rd gens on a 20 minute trip. I hardly ever see them in black though.

Were you looking on top of flat bed tow trucks ? Maybe that's why you missed them because you were looking for them on the road

I bought mine in late 2015 and for about one year I saw one every week or two, maybe. Now, I see at least a minimum of ten a day during normal driving. I'm in Rancho Cucamonga too.

Aww. I would hang this post on my fridge. It's just so SIMPLE and innocent, like that of a small child with a very limited imagination. I just wanna adopt you.

Hawaii is the land of the Tacoma, and there are a LOT of third gens running around. No comparing it to 2nd gens that have been around for a long time, but what I have noticed more is the amount of new 4runners these days. I wonder if the 3rd gen has boosted 4Runner sales? :notsure:
