Just bought a Vacation house walking distance to the ocean. Is my Tacoma going to rust in half?

    Where?

My surf-bum son's 2012 DCLB has spent the best part of its life on the beach here in Saint Augustine--it looks like this underneath. He's not good about tires, but he does have brains enough to rinse it off with fresh water 3 or 4 times a week...

Never traveled to Hawaii? Rusted out piles of Tacomas as far as the eye can see.

Sorry did not read your post carefully :anonymous:. Just saw the tires. If I I saw this on my daughter's car that would be her birthday present. Sorry sweetie :notsure:

Yea, the a/c is toast. What do you think of mini splits? There is no HOA so I am think about window units also.

I drive vehicles forever. Before I bought the 2017 Taco I had my 94 S10 that I bought when I was 16. I am 32 now so I had that truck half my life.

Mini splits are awesome for the purpose they serve. Since there's an excising system though, it'd probably be cheaper to replace that than adding mini splits. Window bangers work, but they're obnoxiously loud in my opinion.

Bought it when I was in high school. Paid 8,000$ while working for 5.15$ per hour bagging groceries.
I removed the molding and welded up the 100 holes down the side and painted it.
Then I bagged it. Shaved it, and added the GMC front clip.
Then then a some point I put the stock stuff on and put nonshaved doors back. Then ratted canned it.
Drove it for years like that. Then bought the Tacoma. I don't like financing stuff so drive trucks till I can buy one. I still drive my truck most days and just put a new A/C system in it.

Another question. The place is two bedroom moble 840sqft, Would a mini split in each bedroom cool the whole place? The bedrooms are own opposite sides and the kitchen living room in the middle. Its so close to the water it had to be a 1998 ZONE 2 so decent insulation. I may go with window units. Im not going for nice as much as I am wanted a cool place to sleep and a flushing toilet.

Nice man. Sounds like you really have your life together and had good financial decision making from a young age. Don't let the haters get to you.

Not really just plundered my retirement for a fishing shack. LOL. But I am debt free and planning on upping my retirement contributions to 50% for a few years till I am back at a comfortable level. Wife and I bought a McMansion we we first got married. It was nice but after years of paying a crazy high mortgage the wife and I decided we didn't need 15ft tall ceilings our a breakfast area and a formal dining room. One day my wife asked why we just could not eat breakfast and dinner at the same table. We sold everything and moved into a camper. We save enough to buy a small house in the country were I could shoot guns in the back yard. People kinda looked down on us in that camper. People would try to give us cloths and we were making over 100k a year with zero debt. When the wife had our son we bought a house due because we did not want to be the people raising kids in a camper people. We bought out house with mostly cash and two year mortgage. To this day we go by the zero debt/ save and buy policy. My wife had zero credit so I let her buy the Tacoma because in the medical field employers run credit check for new hires. We took a 10k loan out for the tacoma a month or two ago at 2.9%. We could pay it off but we are making the payments to help her establish credit.

Coat everything really well, re coat in spring and/or fall. You can rinse excess dirt and stuff off occasionally, it won't wash off. Wear crap clothes you can throw away, it's messy!
