Way easier than I expected but definitely took some time to do.

I'm glad they were welded on. If I ever have to take my tc ones I'll sell the truck.

Somehow one of the slipped (I blame it on heatstroke) so you can't quite fully rotate one of those cams. It's really close though. I didn't see it until it had it fully welded.

 

Oh damn, didn't realize you were in NorCal for some reason. What's wrong with your U Bolts? They look fine if a hair long.

Bumping this here. Bumper/UCA's/exhaust are Free.99 to locals, I don't deliver or ship.

 

Also, whoever was asking me about the bumper and the inner bump thing, I have the crush bracket/whatever you want to call it for 2012+ from mine. I don't know if I have the actually black bumper bracket thing, it might be buried under some crap, but if you really want it I can check.

Well what you can't see is I have a 9/16 nut on a 1/2 u bolt as a spacer. They aren't threaded far enough to tighten. The u bolts that came with my kit are too big for my u bolt plates. And too long even if they did fit.

 

Ahhhh gotcha. Is that the camburg kit or the DMZ kit? I just called Tim at DMZ and basically said "give me everything needed to install your kit short of welding it yourself" and there wasn't anything missing ;/

 

It wasn't either of those. Mine was giant. Shorted a few things. Kit didn't come with a bunch of stuff.

Tim has been a lifesaver for me. Anything I've needed for my kit I can email him and have it the next day. I just wish I would have spent more with him. He even gave me some solid advice that saved buying parts more than once.

 

Yeah Tim is an awesome dude. I'd say probably one of the best, if not the best in the business.

 

If his kit was bolt on I would have gone with it. The giant kit was nice because that guess work was taken out.

Although I have some weirdness with my spring measurements so maybe bolt on isn't he best way to go.

 

No idea, never even looked in to Giant's kits, read just a little to many bad reviews from their shop to even bother. I was holding out for about a year on the Camburg kit (that just recently released) but they were working on to many other things and just kept telling me "a few more weeks" on releasing it to production, so I just went with DMZ which the majority of LT guys on here were running. I'm pretty happy with it, although I'll be bending up a new bed cage for myself one of these days, and making a better bed saver/bolt in cage, as well as a couple other changes I wasn't happy with.

 

Ah got it. I wasn't 100% happy with my giant kit.

The bed cage however fit perfectly.

I'm going to change my transfer case and front dif oil. I mentioned it a couple months back but didn't get to it. Can't remember if there was a preferred oil for this task.

75W-90 is commonly used but 85W-140 (I think that is what it was) was recommended by @jberry813 and ECGS. I've always used Lucas and had good luck.

 

Casini Ranch in Duncan's Mills is a cool spot for family style camp outs, think KOA. It's right along the river so you can walk from your campsite.

Otherwise, you can try Bullfrog Pond campground in the Armstrong Redwoods State Park.

Everything is mega busy this time of year, we were looking for a last minute campsite on the coast (Doran, Bodega dunes, wrights beach etc) for this thurs/fri and everything was booked solid.

We ended up settling for the Petaluma KOA, which is all of 6 minutes from our house LOL.

Don't judge me though... we took our 11 month old on 3 weeks of RTT camping in Moab, northern AZ and Nevada, but now that there's two kiddos, it's the trailer life for us for a while!!
