Icon/TC Mid travel, TRD S/C, PNP Greddy EMU, 625cc injectors, 2.2 pulley, Hayden tranny cooler, AEM wideband, TRD boost gauge.
    Truck= 2001, Icon coilovers
So I watched the Icon YouTube on adjusting ride height with the coils still on the rig-
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKUUmbhUrpg

But the 2nd gen taco there lends itself to this method, the first gen's body metal, UCA etc are all in the way, no way to use the tool like in the video. How are you guys adjusting? I'm thinking I have to take the coils off, drill the three top hat holes into some wood, bolt the top to it, clamp the wood down and adjust the height off of the truck.

Do you have aftermarket UCA's? Not sure if it matters but I have Camburg UCA's and am able to raise the front of the truck just enough to sneak the wrench in there to adjust. Otherwise, I was informed by the local ORW that they prefer to adjust these coilovers off of the truck.

I have Camburgs too, and the Icons are extended droop that should help with getting the UCA out of the way when jacked up (thought they seem to be shy of an inch longer than fully extended 5100s)- maybe because I have the remote resi it makes it harder as well (some fittings and hose in the way). Even without the resi, I just don't see how the wrench can get in there.

Same setup here but without the resi's. I was able to get to them on both sides. I plan to adjust the passenger side again soon (didn't go high enough the first time) and will try and snap some pics.

Just went through this last week. I have the Icon UCA with their non reservoir extended travel coilovers.

When I lifted the front end off the ground to take the weight off the coilover and adjust them like they recommend, the UCA is 100% directly in front of the adjustment collar and there is no way to get their spanner wrench on it and turn it far enough to get at it a second time (basically I was able to get it on there once directly behind the uniball and make a very small adjustment but the UCA keeps it from turning far enough to then hit the next set of holes in the collar).

What I did was slowly lower the front end back onto the ground just enough that the UCA moved slightly out of the way, making just enough room to use the handle end of the spanner wrench and catch one of the adjustment holes in the collar off to the side of the coilover instead of trying to get behind the uniball, and I was able to turn it enough to expose the next hole and keep turning it one hole at a time!

It was definitely harder to turn since there was a small amount of weight on the suspension, but it wasn't that bad, I was able to do it with one hand still and it was for sure easier than taking the coilover off the truck and trying to adjust it!

All I do is Jack it up by the LCA, take the wheel off and keep jacking it up enough to get the tool under the UCA, works great every time.

This is exactly how I did it...thanks for going into details @Okiyota its been a while since I've adjusted mine. A few more tips, spray the threads with some WD-40 to help the collar turn easier. Also, when using the handle end of the spanner wrench to adjust, make sure it's seated correctly against the collar before turning.

Also just throw out the spanner, it's basically $30 garbage. A punch with the same diameter is much more usable and you can put a cheater on it.

They're good buddy! I'll post pics soon since I didn't get to take any during the install.

Haven't really asked him about his setup but I'll be seeing him this weekend. Both installs turned out great though.

I'll PM you as to not clutter this thread...haha.

I replaced the shitty icon spanner with a cast one from wheelers. A punch tho? That doesn't seem right to me. I use my Hi-lift handle as a cheater for cranking the collar when the going gets tuff.

Punch works great fits the hole with no slop and it is slim so maneuvering it is easy. Pretty standard really, not a new trick or anything, learned it from an Ultra 4 driver.

I read and was told the same thing but already had the ICON spanner wrench. I've only used the handle end so it might as well be a punch.:notsure:
