Just bought a Vacation house walking distance to the ocean. Is my Tacoma going to rust in half?

This is for your frame and underbody. DO NOT spray this on your paint.

They make condensers with a special coating for saltwater

Mini splits are good but it would be pricey at put more than one in rather than replacing what you have

I do HVAC installs in the south bay of SoCal, they have half life by the beach usually

Yes it will rust BUT if you take care of it it won't rust as much or as fast. I grew up in an ocean front home. My dads 79 F-350 with a camper was parked outside everyday of it's life. He washed it weekly and at least twice a year would wax both truck and camper. I ended up getting both after he passed. In 2000 the truck both underside and paint looked almost new, no rust but fading. The ONLY rust was on the camper on the bottom side of the cab over section because my dad never thought about the dew that would build up at night and that underside of the camper wouldn't dry as fast as the rest of the rig.

Wash as often as you can with soap and fresh water and you'll be amazed how long it will last. Maintenance is the key. I'll look for a photo of this 21 year old truck and camper to show you just how good it looked after 21 years on never being in a garage.

If you got someone in there to do a proper load calculation, I'm sure they could fine you the proper size mini split. I've put them in from 3/4 ton in a loft area all the way to 5 ton in restaurants.

Father in law is a Harley guy. All decked out black and chrome bike. 8 months after they move to a beach house and didn't cover the bike, all that shiny chrome rusted.

Norfolk naval station or Yorktown?, nice, I lived in Hampton/Newport News for 6 years and had no rust on any of my cars or 88/89 Toyotas, both were fine but then my daughter lived on Carolina beach for 9 months and her CRV had more rust on the brakes than the body...

Norfolk Naval base. I don't miss that place at all. I lived there for 3 years about 13 years ago. Parking was non existent when ships were in port. Although there was this nice little lunch place there. I think it was called the greasy spoon. I'm not sure if it's still open or not.

I live a hundred yards from the ocean. My daily driver, Honda Civic, is thrashed. Not that I take the time to keep it waxed, but I keep it washed. It has pretty serious rust above the windshield and at the bottom of rear window. I'm talking where it has rust colored streams running down the side of the car. Yes, it is a 12 year old car.. but it looks like it 20 years old. Runs amazing, but squeaks like its been stored at the bottom of the ocean. I had my entire truck wrapped in Xpel Ultimate and keep it stored in my parents garage about 3 miles from the ocean. You pay to play when living on the coast. Small price to pay to live in paradise, I guess...

If you're talking about the place by the carrier piers that would serve chitlins one day a week, it's gone.

Damn. That's one thing about the Navy, we can't have too much of a good thing.
