It has the tacoma ready lift kit front and back, with some 285/70/17 falken tires.
I have a 2013 sr5 with tacoma ready lift kit front and back, just so i could fit 285's and I have annoying squeek i dont know where is coming from, but i guess those leaf springs are the culprit.

This morning I went through a mcdonalds drive through and the worker complimented on how nice my truck was and started some small talk about it. I was so embarrassed when I left because the truck squeaked so bad leaving the window. The truck sounds like its been a work horse daily for years.

Mine doesn't squeak, not "normal" though I suppose it is common. Get under there with a high-pressure hose from a car wash and see if you can get any dirt from between the leafs. I also personally think spraying crap all over them does more harm than good from what I've seen. Only times I've heard squeaking is if I put silicone or fluid film on them. If it's just dirt, they don't squeak...

Nice looking ride though - and if I'm not mistaken that almost looks like the Publix off the Ooltewah exit north of Chatt? :)

Added a 3leaf AAL. When I did I cleaned out all the Leafs and added energy suspension grease between them. It's a very thick and tacky grease. More like a glue than a grease. So far no squeaks but it's only been a few months.

I have had pretty good luck fixing squeaks using some stuff called ATP AT-205. I had to order it via Amazon. This is suppose to stop leaks in transmissions, power-steering systems, etc. It basically rejuvenates the rubber seals. I use it in a different way. I dump it in a dedicated spray bottle and hit all the rubber bushings when I start to hear a squeak. I use it full strength. Within a day or so the squeak goes away for maybe a year+. I've been doing this on my '97 4Runner and now on the front bushings of my Tacoma. Works great.

I also think you need to look at the bushings on the rear shocks. My truck was T-boned in a wreak 2 years ago and I guess the shock was damaged but didn't show up until a year later. Of course the insurance company said it was normal wear. The truck was squeaking back there but I thought it was leafs and was waiting for the TSB at the dealer. Before the leafs were replaced I replaced the rear shocks and the squeak went away. Must have been the shock bushings. I would hit the rear bushings with that ATP AT-205 stuff.

Have you like NEVER owned a truck before or something?? It absolutely is normal, WTF do think is going to happen when you stuff mud and grime between long pieces of metal that are supposed to flex and rub together?? How in the world are you supposed to design a squeak free leaf pack impervious to mud smartguy??

ooohhhh but there's a TSB so it must be someone's else's fault!!! Except there's a TSB for this on literally every other offroad truck as well truck:

    Silverado/Canyon/Colorado/H3/Sierra TSB:
    https://www.carmd.com/Tsb/Download/96828/e3cea094

    Ford F-series TSB:
    https://www.f150forum.com/f38/creaking-noises-54962/

    Nissan Frontier TSB:
    http://tunfs.yuku.com/topic/1367/TSB-for-Squeaky-Leaf-Springs-NTB05117#.WWOqe69lCUk

    Ford Ranger TSB:
    https://www.truedelta.com/Ford-Ranger-tsbs-93,2004

Trust me I'll find one for any truck built in the last 20 years....

Just google ANY Truck model plus "rear leaf spring noise" and you'll get hundreds of threads on it. "titan leaf spring noise" "ranger leaf spring noise" "raptor leaf spring noise" "Silverado squeaky leaf springs" etc etc etc

And you know whats weird?? All those different models and forums and its only Tacoma owners bitching about how it should be covered by Toyota, I seriously couldn't find Ford/Nissan/Chevy or even Tundra owners with the same attitude and if they did the replies were "dude its normal here's how to fix it". All the other owner forums and people just figure out a solution (which is pressure wash the leaf packs good and grease them up. Problem solved), but on tacomaworld you see a lot of people going in circles with ideas like "bitch to the dealer loud enough and make them fix it! you shouldn't have to!" or recommendations to "blast them on yelp" and just a general attitude that they're a victim of Toyota's apathy or something :jerkoff:

If you offroad you're going to need to take care of your gear if you want it operating like new. Part of that is taking extra care to seal electronics if you do water crossings, it means cleaning your under carriage with saltaway if you dip it in the ocean, it means regularly waxing your paint to keep it protected, and it means PRESSURE WASHING AND GREASING YOUR FUCKING LEAF SPRINGS IF YOU GET MUD IN THEM.

Sorry don't mean to be rude this place just bitches about problems instead of solving them too much sometimes.

The dealer replaced my leaf springs under warranty because they were squeaking, and the dealer did it on their own initiative too, believe it or not. I haven't been off-road since, so I don't know if the squeak will return or not. Probably will, but for now it's nice - nice and quiet!

Buy plastic spacers in bulk somewhere. Only thing that stopped the squeak in mine. Jack up the back so the leafs separate a bit, replace the stupid plastic pad, then you should be good for a few more mud holes. Good luck.

My undercarriage was covered in dirt from mudding a little bit. It starts squeaking so I sprayed it down and the squeak stopped.

This will vary from dealer to dealer even service advisor to advisor so although you got lucky I wouldn't count on this being a warranty covered issue.

They fixed it on my 2nd gen for free too but it was mostly because of a recall that gave me new leaf springs anyways, even after the new leafs it only took a couple offroad trips and the squeak was back, then I just kept power washing and greasing power washing and greasing a constant battle to keep them silent. Eventually I put nylon insulators between the leafs and that seemed to be a more permanent solution, at least it didn't require a good greasing every few offroad trips but still needed a good power wash every now and then.

On my 1st gen I never even bothered fixing it because it was already a squeaky old truck. On my new 3rd gen I've basically soaked my leafs in white lithium grease after I power washed and cleaned them by hand. Its been on 5 offroad trips since then and still no squeak but I anticipate I'll eventually have to put in some nylon like on my second gen.

Yes, I agree, a couple of dealers, including the one that fixed it, had looked at the squeak and just power-washed it as a fix. Which would work for a little while, and then the squeak would come back. I had just gotten used to it. Then, when I took my Taco in for its 20,000 mile service the service manager came out and said they noticed the squeak and that they would take a look at it. At first I said not to worry about it (as I figured I would just get another power washing), but he said they might replace the springs under warranty, so I said ok. They looked at it and decided to change the springs out. I'm not holding out too much hope that they won't squeak too though once I go off-road. Unless they somehow changed the design of the springs, I think the new ones will have the same problems as the old ones.

My '17 Taco TRDOR had the same squeak after a little mudding session...so I power washed the leafs and surrounding suspension areas, let it dry, took some Fluid Film and drenched the leafs. Then I rocked the truck side-to-side to let the film seap into the leaf packs. No squeak for about 2 months at this point...hopefully it lasts!

Also, to anyone that says you should deal with a $40k truck, please go away. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Leaf springs were one of, if not the earliest, form of suspension. Meaning lots of times to figure it out and engineer it further. These trucks shouldn't squeak. Sure, other trucks may also squeak, but we are talking about Toyota/manufacturing companies discovering a way to produce quiet leaf springs (not GM, Ford, Chevy)...

Mine has a slight squeek now when I get out. Doesnt bother me given the tacoma history on this.

My 1st gen had a notorious squeak that would not go away even after the leaf packs were removed and lubricated twice.

Granted it's a $40K truck, it'll continue to depreciate and eventually the value of the truck will be inline with how it sounds.

Best course of action may be to file a claim with Corporate.
