I made the mistake of taking it in for the differential recall last Wednesday. They told me it needed to be inspected for leaks before ordering parts. It failed inspection and I was told 1-3 days for parts. I was off work last week so no big deal. Turns out they have no ETA on parts and if I wanted to pick up my truck I would have to sign a waiver. When I went to pick up my loaner I talked to the service manager who told me how terrible Toyota is handling the situation and losing a lot of money on loaner vehicles over a $5 gasket. He said it could be 2 weeks or 2 months for the repair.

So what did I do to my Tacoma today? I said goodbye for the foreseeable future and hopped in my loaner - 2017 Highlander XLE. I gotta admit, this thing is niiice.

Well... today I noticed that my front passenger side door at the bottom was chipping off. Yup! That's metal exposed. Made an appointment at my trusty body shop to get that repaired fast.

14-18 stranded should work, I would use the 14. Buts that's mainly because I already have 14 wire.

Yeah, you do! I read your post about not being able to have suspension installed there too??? What is up with that? I just order two of the Northstar AGM35 batteries.. Damn, those things are not cheap! But, I hear they are quality. Now I gotta figure out what to do with my battery that came in the truck. Only has 4K miles on it... I'm sure I'll figure out something. Hope you get back stateside soon and thanks for your service, Tyler!

I'm personally appalled that a fellow Alabamian would wait so long to wax their truck. In order to make this right and as a show of good will, you should come down to LA (Lower Alabama) and wash and wax my truck because it's been almost 6 months and I don't want someone heckling me. LOL

Glad my bracket is working out for you guys.
I too have the Off-Grid Engineering dual battery setup. I like having at least one heavy battery behind the front wheel and on the right side.... Helps a little with the balance and the dreaded Taco Lean, unlike the side-by-side battery systems which really exacerbate it

So I could get a suspension put on.. but then they won't ship my truck back at the end of the rotation. They are being ultra strict about non-stock parts these days. That is why I have mainly been focusing on interior and under the hood.. things they won't notice.

Interesting.. For some reason, I thought the military blew money on all sorts of nonsense. You're smart to be doing the other mods there. So many to do and honestly suspension was pretty easy. I did my whole suspension + ECGS bushing over the weekend. Full Dakar pack w/ add a leaf, extended 5100 on the rear and 6112's up front. Nothing to it!

Aside from making good choices on mods, you made another decision I wish I would have made... MT!
