What state are you in? My frame from my 95 is still perfectly fine and I'll be throwing it to the scrapper in about a month.

Oh man that would be a pretty big nightmare to get to you. It was a 95.5 Xtra Cab 4cyl. The frame is still perfect, not a speck of rust but I rolled the truck and bought another one to swap everything to so I don't need it anymore.

Well this is for a Toyota issue and part of the recall. So that is not off the table if they are going to be looking for a frame to swap it out. Yours is a perfect match to as I had the SR5. Sam year and all.

Well I wish you luck but 95-2000 were never part of the recall, they were bought back and crushed. The buy back ended years ago though.

Yep they said I am SOL. How ever the dealership wants to help me. They said if I could find a frame they would do the swap for me. Know any one with a frame laying around ?!?!? Thats not tweaked ?!!?

Not quite sure where to ask this, so I'll ask it here. So towed a boat on Saturday. Which I have towed many times no problem. Saturday was hotter then average here. Prob like 90-100* I think. Boat trailer roughly 3500lb. Towed with OD off flat road 10mi each way. Got back home parked the boat on drive way with truck attached until last night. Truck was parked with ebrakes on. this morning got into the truck fired it up and put the truck in drive. It didn't move. Put in reverse didn't move. So tried going through all the gears and still didn't move. Turned truck off and tried it again. Still same thing. Finally put the truck in drive and gave it some gas. Truck rev up but still stayed there. Then after a few seconds it finally engaged in drive but felt really hard. Test drove the truck shifts fine. Goes in and out of gear fine now. Any idea what may have caused the truck from going in gear?

I was thinking maybe when I parked the boat on drive way which has a slight inclide for too long it may have forced the gear in Park since I left it too long? Or could it be caused by hot weather?

Check your fluid level. If its low it may have a hard time engaging until it warmed up a little. Could have burned/lost fluid while towing? Just a quick guess

Yea. I'm planning to do a quick drain and fill after what just happened.

My first look would be the brakes. Hot weather, towing, parking brake applied could cause brake shoes to lock to the drums. If it still drives hard, feel the wheels after a short drive, one that's really hot could mean that brake is dragging.

It drives fine now. I was thinking it could have been the brakes also. But when I first put it I gear I didn't feel the transmission engaging at all like I usually do.

But I'll go check to see if the wheels are hot.
