Then I recommend Old Man EMU, or OME. It's a very solid and versatile lift, and you get a full new leaf pack and new upper control arms. You won't be hitting desert whoops at 50mph, but this will handle everything you need it to based on what you were saying earlier. A LOT of people on here run this set-up and are very happy for it. For your budget, this is the best you're going to get.

There's asking for help and then there's being lazy and attempt to coerce folks to cater to your needs, there's TONS of info on this subject at your fingertips, yet it seems difficult

You want other people to include the prices and reviews? Ever hear of this awesome thing called research? Google and YouTube works well. Also I guess headstrong off road is a good site to look at.

Hear OME is good. Prices are decent and if are into the slower movement stuff, like myself, it might work best.

Yeah theirs a lot to think about. You need to think about future weight and mods. For example. I'm building my truck for over landing and know that I will be adding a lot of weight in the rear, roughly 600lbs or more so that needs to be taken into consideration when it comes to the lifts.

Well since we are here.. I can't find alot of info about ride quality of the OME nitrochargers vs 6112 even though they're at such similar price points. Anyone have first hand experience?

Any thoughts on how the 5160 in this pack would compliment the dakar leaf pack? I'm leaning towards the 6112/5160 build but really would like to go with the dakar leafs. I don't want to be using the shock travel limit as the bumpstop though. Some guys have been pretty happy with the extended length 5100s in the rear.

The shocks themselves do not provide any lift. They will work with a lift but they themselves will not lift it. You need an Add-A-Leaf (AAL) or a full leaf pack replacement. On headstrongs website you'll see at the bottom you have a drop down with three options for rear lift.
    • No rear lift needed
    • Deaver single AAL
    • HS 3 leaf AAL
The AALs will both add additional cost. Looks like about $100 for the deaver and $200 for the headstrong. Either are good. You'll also need UCAs (upper control arms) for the front if you want to lift it 2-3". If you are willing to stay below 2" of lift you can get away without the UCAs. They will also add more coins ranging from $300ish for the light racing and upwards of $600 for the camburg and total chaos.

You need the rear lift and the UCAs no matter which route you go if you intend to lift over 2"

Discussing ride quality over the internet is really a losing battle, as there is too much ambiguity in the terms being bandied about the forum. I've spent countless hours reading up on this, and have come up very empty.

To answer this question properly would take a person with great experience with each of the popular manufacturers, as well as extreme patience in articulating in a way that is unmistakably clear. That is just not going to happen on the level that it needs to.
