    Does the flipped orientation of the IDELS bearing rob you of any ground clearance? Or does it virtually hang as low as the stock CB? It's hard to tell. I read through this thread a week or two ago but didn't see much talk on it. And thanks for taking the plunge @MonkeyProof.

    Is everyone else still pleased with their poly CB? Rebuilding both drive shafts soon and need to confirm whether it's worth the $160CAD for a long-term solution before ordering. Thanks!

    it dropped it a tad.. not much more than stock. nothing noticeable at all. It hasnt been a problem at all since install, and it has been prefect ever since install.

    looks the same honestly. might just be black Poly... same mold design and everything. either that, or they used rubber but the same mold as the Poly IEDLS one.

    I can't tell the difference either besides the Spicer one is $100 cheaper. All our driveline parts are Spicer OEM so it's not a cheap knock off. Just wanted to share in case someone is looking to do some testing.

    I would try it if I didnt already have the IEDLS one. it really does look the same! nice find man. people should get on this for sure!

    My buddy is having center bearing issues so I'll try to convince him to test this one out for me. I'll look at it side by side with my IEDLS that I have.

    so long as the bearing is a SEALED bearing you should be good, as you wont be able to use that slinger on our driveshafts to keep shit out of a non sealed CB.

    I may give that Spicer XC (sealed bearing) a whirl. I'm in a pinch to get a bunch of maintenance done before some upcoming wheeling trips so I opted to take the truck in to a driveshaft shop down the street. They're strictly Spicer. I'll put in a request for this exact bearing and report my findings.

    I wouldn't be able to get the IDELS one shipped to Canada and installed in time unfortunately. So much to do, so little time!:goingcrazy:

    if its sealed you should be good. an OEM rubber CB for the ford bearing is going to be MUCH better than the OEM toyota bearing, as the OEM toyota bearing had to allow the driveshaft to move forward n back an inch or so through it for the prerunners (as they dont have a slip joint after the center u joint), and any ford setup with a CB always had a slip joint after the center u joint so the ford CB has always been designed to be much more stiff.

    So what if the shop recommends a sealed Spicer XC center bearing specific to the Tacoma? Should I opt for the Ford Ranger version?

    A "spicer XC" cb that is meant for the truck is likely the exact same one as the truck came with (as spicer makes our driveline components). If you went with a ford ranger one, its NOT going to be just a bolt up. You will need at the very least a plate to capture the CB, and likely some fine tuning with spacers to get the angles right.
