Yep, just looked at the sheet that they gave me. They ordered the previous part # for the back shocks instead of the new part #. I'm going to call them on Monday to get this straightened out.

    Thanks for your help guys

try calling toyotas 800 number and explaining that you have had bottoming out issues since you had got the truck, but the dealer told you there was no fix the times you asked about it........they may fix it for you that way. worth a try. if they dont...............just buy an add a leaf and install it.......essentially, its gonna do the same thing for you.

Well, the drama continues. I called them this morning and they said that the shocks were never even supposed to be installed, only the springs. I asked them why they ordered shocks then to which they replied 'I don't know'. Apparently their Toyota service rep only 'approved' me to have the springs installed, but not the shocks. I told them well now I have front and rear shocks that don't match up. They said they would check with their rep again and get back to me.

This is really frustrating. I wish Toyota would just add the 2008's to the TSB so that it wasn't such a hassle.

is your truck a trd truck..........or is it an sr5?? if its a sr5......shocks were needed, but if its a trd...none were called for.....in which case, they put the wrong shocks on the rear. i hope they get this crap straightened out for you man!!

the non trd package gets 4 bilstein shocks and rear springs, while the trd trucks get rear springs-no shocks.

It's the SR5, non-TRD. The reason they said I wasn't supposed to get the shocks was because the 08's don't qualify for the TSB and they said they were making an exception by installing the springs, but that they wouldn't do the shocks.

ah.......i got a sneaky suspicion that they will include some of the 08's....up to a certain vin. number in the tsb when they update it. glad you got the springs tho.....now get some bilstein 5100's and you'll be set.......they ride better than the stock billys!!:D

Just heard back from the dealer. They said that they would replace the rear shocks with the Bilsteins from the TSB. Going in on Thursday to get it done. :)

Got my new rear shocks yesterday. Now have the full TSB performed. Unfortunate that it took 3 trips to the dealer to get it done.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
    Hello all,
I got my TSB work done today for the springs. Toyota of The Desert (Palm Springs, CA.) I talked to Julio in the service department and I did not even have to bring the truck in first. Simply called, he ordered the parts and called me Thursday when they came in. So I was there at 0730 this morning and was out the door at 1130. No hassle at all and now the truck drives like it is was intended. Actually it drives like my old 97 Tacoma. So if you are in Socal hit them up and they will take care of you.
