I feel like when I used to run ECT it kept the trans unlocked and builds more heat than when I didn't have it on?

It's less Tacoma and more mod
Also it is less likely to lock the torque converter in any gear until the load lightens so you'll build more heat in the tranny in some cases. I use it in my cruiser with OD off to achieve TC lockup in 3rd though, it's great for that and helps when towing. But for the most part I drive with it off, for around the town stuff you'll just notice an MPG drop.

Mm that's interesting. Also one I haven't really followed much. I leave od in a lot. But if it's a long climb up and I'm loaded up it comes off. Od can cause the tranny to heat up very fast.

If the tranny is locked it produces less heat. Should anyways. Slip causes the heat. But yeah the etc makes the tranny hold a gear longer. And down shifts sooner...sorta. it does hold the gear much longer. Like if it was a very long semi steep grade going up hill. With it off the truck will constantly shift between 3rd and od. With etc on it'll stay in 3rd most of the time.

Dream on. So many better places then Colorado without the crowds.

(Cue Brett to say only on the wrong side of the front range)

Well, we have meth and no potatoes. Sounds like ID is the better option.

    Not crowded up here. :D

Front range is a shitshow and doesn't hardly count as CO anymore.

I live in Pueblo, so I usually go adventuring much further south than the crowds, and it's also much cheaper. The downside is that it's cheaper, so more crime and such.

Okay attempting to mount up my arb compressor and run the air line to the rear diff but had some questions.

Have been reading and some say to install a air/water separator to the system to avoid getting condensation and water in the rear diff?

Also some say to cover the blue arb air line hose with 1/4" fuel line to extend the life of the plastic hose?

And a local shop had told me that if I mount the arb compressor on the passenger side of the engine bay above the wheelwell that 5 feet of the arb hose should be enough to run it along the frame and to the third? (Seems a bit short? 1st gen double cab)

Not sure about the other 2 questions but I covered mine in some fuel line in high heat and rub sections just in case for my front diff. Better safe than sorry IMO.

Yes cover it. Better safe then sorry.

The air/water separator is also a great idea. All air compressors will put moisture in the system. Just how it goes with air compressors. One of the advantages of Co2 is its "dry" and you don't have to worry about that.

ARB should have give you a lot of line. Just start at the compressor and run it where you want, cut when you get to the diff. Leave slack as diff goes up and down...of course.

You slide the plastic hose inside the fuel line or just cut the fuel line and slip it over the plastic air line then use zip ties or something?

I got the locker slightly used off a buddy. And bought the compressor new so no air lines. I bought the arb blue plastic line (I believe it's 5feet) but that seems a bit short to run it along the frame but the shop claimed it would be fine and yes of course adding slack for the droop.

Also, do I need two arb bulkhead fitting connectors?

One for the hose to the third, and one for the hose to the compressor?

Since I only bought a 2 ft section of fuel hose, I secured it with small hose clamps.

Mine is used too. Works fine, wouldn't worry about that.

    5' will be close.

The bulk head fitting is for the diff housing only. The solenoid should tap right into the compressor. What you may have to do it T the compressor to fit a quick chuck if you want to do tires with it too. Though most ARBs have two places to mount solenoids so you can just use one of the ports for tires.

Kind of hard to beat everything CO has to offer honestly.

Sure it's getting ridiculously crowded on the front range but that's for a reason. People can access CO's greatness while living in a place with a solid economy, jobs, low cost of living and modern amenities.
