smittybilt 2783 with relentless fab bars.
On a side note....the Bolts to attach to the RTT to the bars weren't long enough. Need at least 70mm long bolt for the 1.75 inch relentless bars.

 

I run the 2783 and the Relentless bars, too, and this is true. I swapped the Smittybilt brackets out for 1.75" exhaust brackets though. Much cleaner look, and to my not-an-engineer mind, more secure.

 

Did the same with my ARB. Longer bolts and exhaust clamps to match the bar diameter. I'm not an engineer either but having the clamping force spread around the entire bottom half of the bar seems better than just the bottom half inch the flat bar clamp touched.

 

Thanks....now off to the auto parts store....or maybe just wait and order on Amazon free prime tomorrow.

Glad to see more smittybilt tents. I just got the XL in. Now to finish the trailer.

Opened u in the living room and damn it's big. The regular size one was small for 3 of us. I'm a roller when I sleep so needed the room.

 

They offer the best value for all the extras that it comes with at the most affordable price. Especially when purchased with the optional 3 year no questions asked warranty.

 

If something happens to mine I'm only out a dead president. It does have the 1year warranty though through manufacture

 

Sixth night in this thing...making me want to make the truck my permanent address. Never, in all of the years that I have been camping, have I slept better than in this beast.

 

I also have a 2783.I havn't got a chance to use it yet.

 

Just ordered my first RTT, how tall should I make my rack for a first gen? I want the top of the tent flush with my roof.

 

Depends on how tall the rtt is...

Call and ask them tent height from rails to ladder with cover. I did that and everyone had a corrected measurement for me.

 

Specs say 15" height.

 

Website says 15" height. I guess I should be asking for pictures so I can figure out what I'd like to do from there. Anyone use just bed bars? Not sure I wanna have a whole rack built again.

 

That's all I ever used is bed bars. Cheaper and no need for a full rack. Never had a problem so far.

 

I have this tent.
