I need more details. Did this happen while their tech driving it out of the shop? Or had they already released it to you? Did you see it all play out in front of you or did they call you and confess?

Dude, I'd go for 3yr /36k mile warranty .... I'd be friggin furious and would make a scene on the dealership floor until I got what I wanted ( warranty, pay for all work, new suspension, leafs, pretty much everything on the back end, new tire, etc etc.). I'd leave my truck right there and make sure everyone saw it in the dealership til I got what I wanted. They would lose so many customers til then....

Also, dude, I don't know how you feel safe driving on those rusted leaf springs.

In all my years of vehicle ownership, it seems like Toyota dealerships have the highest rates of this kind of crap. It's one thing to put on lugnuts too tight or to put scratches in the paint while working on the engine, but to forget to put in the oil or to forget to put on lug nuts..

You almost don't wanna risk taking in the vehicle for warranty work..

Man I am so sorry for you. I know this is killing ya. They will definitely fix this. It would put a big dent to have a raging customer with a big sign picketing out front of the dealer. Hang in there man. The only question is how long will it take.

Curious what the criminal charges for the police report were?

Why not ask for an Audi TT-RS while he's at it? Maybe I just don't give a fuq anymore, but if I made whole again, loaner vehicle and maybe a gum ball or two Id be ok. Shit happens and jumping around hooting and hollering like a shit throwing monkey typically gets a person no where

You arent alone. My local dealer failed to tighten my lug nuts, oblonged the holes in the wheels, ruining them. Blamed it on me even though I only drove 2 miles away when the steering wheel started violently shaking. Drove it back to the dealer because I was there for an axle issue which I assumed was the problem. That and a time they asked me go to an auto parts store to buy my own gear oil "because we don't have differential fluid here" (I made an appointment for diff fluid swap for which i took a day off work) even though they had 55gal drum on site, was enough for me to never go there again except for warranty stuff.

Inexcusable for not putting lug nuts on. My shop has a zero tolerance policy on this. Your done if you left the lug nuts off. Double sign offs required on wheel torque with 2 different torque wrenches.

The springs were not damaged by this. Just looks like surface rust.

    Not an OEM setup anyways.

They had the porter pull it around about 50 feet from their parking lot. I got in the truck and turned around the corner out of their bay - literally 35 feet from their doors the tire just fell flat and I dragged on the hub like 15feet. Manager comes and and says " the lugs must have been loose" , I lost my sh*t and told him "what f'kn nutz ? " 3 minutes later another tech comes with a handful of lug nuts that were in the techs drawer. The police report is just as a documented record. No crime but its always usefull to have in case the dealership makes up some crazy b.s.

What else did you have done besides the shocks?

No reason to pull the rear tires off for those.
