From a reliability standpoint there is MUCH MUCH less stress on the spindle on dual swingout when compared to a single long swingout.

I can see the towing benefit, even if it would be a rare inconvenience. Definitely less stress on the hinge, but I'm not aware of that being a real concern.

Dual swing-out is cool, just seems over-hyped by all the reactions. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that the single is good enough lol

Darn, now I might have to wait to see the 2nd gen dual design before I buy a rear bumper, was so close to being ready for that hi-clearance rear with gate!

Question for those smarter than myself here. I've had my steel front bumper for about 8 months and love it. But over the past few days I've noticed it bouncing when I drive over bumps in the road. Everything is torqued correctly and the bumper looks in great shape. Is this normal over time? Thanks.

If the bumper is secure, it might be your body mount bushings going bad. It will create the appearance of you bumper moving when it is actually the body.

I'll check that out next. Is that typical at 50,000 miles?

Honestly don't know. Depends on how hard you've wheeled it I think. Just did a process of elimination. If you're 100% sure the bumper is secured to the frame, bushings are the likely culprit. Or if it's only a tiny amount of movement it might be normal.

I get it too, so I'd call it normal, either that or my body mounts are worn too, but I highly doubt it. Mainly on bumps and when I'm flexing it moves around a lot, almost to the point where it touches body panels.

Why do you doubt that your bushings are worn?

Because they still look good from the outside, but I don't know what the hole through them looks like, as in whether or not its turned egg shaped or is still a round hole.

If they are still the stock rubber ones, I'd suspect they are probably worn on a 2011. But I couldn't say for sure obviously.
