I really don't get it man. All my life I have felt every single person deserves at least a response, no matter what it is. You see those movies with the "nerdy" kid and they always get ignored in school or whatever even if they try and say hey to somebody, JUST FREAKING RESPOND. I don't care if it's "hey, I don't want to talk" at least you acknowledged them. It's amazing what a little amount of acknowledgement will do for somebody, even if it's not the acknowledgement they want.

Example: the president of my company gave me a hard time the other day for being a millennial, just joking around of course, but it was still "hey I'm your president and I care enough to speak to you".

It makes me wonder if it's an industry instilled thing where companies TELL their people to be like that or if it's just people who aren't people-people who always go into those jobs?

I bet you didn't try to argue with him, did ya?

haha hell no. "yes sir I'm an awful millennial that doesn't know anything, yes sir, *wipes brown from nose*, yes of course sir".

lol no not really, I joke with him too. when my hair is in extreme "comb-over" mode he calls me opossum (not sure why) so I call him spike (he has short spikey way too much hair gel styled hair lol). he's a good man that just likes to joke, but acknowledges everyone in his company no matter the position.

but I have no idea why it's such an issue, you'd think people in HR would be the most communicative talkative folks.
