Aftermarket Center Console Switch Panel

Does anyone make an aftermarket switch panel that goes here to replace the empty spaces with the normal 21x39mm push switches for those that don't have the P&T package? Not my pic, but same panel we have just with ECT button on the left since it's an auto.

I've seen tacito's thread for overhead console panels and forty2's threads (I already have his panel in the blank cubby), but haven't seen anyone specifically 3D print or design this panel yet. Looks like you could put 2 in between each of the OEM switches with some room left over? I could remove the QI button and replace with a shorty switch but it's a "nice" feature to have.

Maybe see if Toyota sells a premium tech insert for there? Mine has switches (that I don't use any of) all the way across

 

We didn't really need it. The only thing that was nice is auto/dual zone AC, but that's the only feature we would have used on the whole package.

The only switch I use in my tech package there is the blind spot monitor. All the other stuff is so useless.l for me. Including the QI switch. I spoke to Tacitos and he may be making an insert to fit below there as well

 

You got a part number or anything? I thought I saw that they didn't sell the panel separately, with blanks/empty cutouts.

 

@MilkTeacoma did this mod by buying it from the Dealer and swapping out that whole lower console panel. He gave me his old one to draw up a design as you described. Unfortunately that console is (1) piece, so to modify it you will have to cut out the switch panel surface then insert a custom one. Its gonna be some time before I can get to this area, so for the time being I would recommend going with the dealer replacement.

 

If your lucky, you can find one at a junk yard.

 

Do you happen to have the part number of the panel he bought? No rush, I was just purely curious if anyone has done this yet. I don't foresee using up the other 2 blanks I have in the cubby panel to need this done any time soon. I don't mind paying for the OEM panel with blank cut outs if it helps you with designing your panel to offer to everyone else.

Bummer that it's that whole piece and not just the actual button panel though.

 

I've been finding that panel for around $120 online. The only problem is the Toyota style switchs can only handle 3amps, meaning you have to run a relay for every switch. The Carling style switches can handle 20amps, but are slightly bigger.

That's fine. The ditch lights we have are 24w combined and at 12v DC that's only 2 amps of draw so I didn't have to wire in a relay for them. Eventually I'd like to have a bussmann panel for a central wiring location but with OEM style switches instead of their proprietary buttons/panels.

The OEM panel is 5 switches with "bars/dividers" between each switch (taking up precious space). It appears that if you could design the insert without the dividers and put two switches in between the current switch layout giving you a total of 8 switch spots, no? Also, can the actual OEM switch panel be removed from the lower trim piece (kind of like the overhead console switches and the cubby hole) that it's being sold with or is it truly (1) piece?

 

I would say you could get one extra switch in there at best if those bars weren't there. I'll take a look at my truck at lunch
