Question- I understand dakars perform best under a constant load.

While I do have a Leer topper which is around 200 lbs (I believe), is that enough constant weight to justify getting a full Dakar leaf pack?

I am sold on the OME kit, and maybe the LD pack would be best for my needs, but wanted to get halls opinion before purchasing.

Anyone with a mid rack, RTT and some light camping gear have recommendations on getting either the LD or HD pack? I estimate 300-400 lobs on the weekends, with only about 250lbs as nub DD. TIA

Got my light duty set installed and couldn't be happier with the ride. I'm not sure how this works out as I thought these are stiffer than the wheelers 3AAL, but they feel a lot better and I'm very pleased with the ride height.
For those that are interested my rear hub to fender is at 24.25".

OME light duty rear, 6112's front at 3rd setting and a 1/4" spacer, 265/70r17 KO2s. I'll be stepping up to 285's when these wear out and I get 4.10's in the diffs (I'm done with oversized tires without regearing...been there, done that)

So i have tons of weight in the back. Topper, bed storage system, RTT, and a rear bumper with swing out. Debating on going with the heavy duty or going with allpro expos. Nervous the heavy duty dakars still won't give me enough support. People saying the heavy duty might only be good for 300lb over stock, not 660lb. Anyone like me, massive load in the back, go with the heavy duty? Results?

I know this is an older post, but I had to say it... I think you're also confused! haha 660lbs is equal to about 300kg

I still haven't had a chance to get out riding :( But this is definitely the right pack (lighter duty) for me - after a few weeks, it's riding really smoothly, and carries weight nicely. I towed my snowmobile home this weekend and the back seemed to settle about 1/2" max. I'd guess 250 - 300lbs on the hitch? Over the bumps on the highway that would previously hit the bumpstops, just smooth solid support. It definitely rides nicely with some weight in the vehicle.

The 90021s (the softer valved shock) give a nice ride but they seem undervalved on extension (from my limited experience/knowledge). I'm at the shop now having the fronts swapped out because they hit full extension with a lot of force and a loud bang. ARB support was great, they're doing this under warranty.

Took a bunch of pictures for reference but my phone only kept one of them, not sure how useful it is without the whole truck in the shot:

(edited to specify which pack I installed)

Shit, you're absolutely right, I can't believe I did that. I'm surprised it took someone this long to realize my mistake and call me on it, haha.

It's prolly been ask in this thread but do you have to install the beating drop when you install this Dakar leaf pack?

I did install the bearing drop - it isn't 100% required but it will help reduce vibrations

Finishing my friday. Have bushings, new bolts, 3° shims and u-bolt flip kit, but am planning on reusing stock bumpstops until i can do B110's. May add the carrier bearing drop kit at that time as well - would love your review after you install!

Midway through install decided i needed to POR-15 the axle:
