I have thought about the duratracs also. I like them pretty well.

Love mine, no complaints. Ive had them on two trucks now and have not let me down. They have a great snow rating and a good mud rating so for me in canada = perfect.

235/85-16 Toyo's - Reasons - 1) I can put chains on all 4 wheels (look at the upper A-Arm clearance and you will see what I mean) 2) They are about 32 inches tall (for max clearance) 3) They are tough (crushed rock etc does not go thru them. 4) They are LT Rated 5)10 Ply. 6) Never had one fail. 7) I have a set of AT's and MT's both mounted on rims, swap twice a year. My truck is used for work (not play) going to mountain top transmitter sites several times a week. Clay

I have looked at the 255/85r16 km2s also, but have read that some people say they are not good for some situations.

Stock right now but thinking an all terrain Cooper in 265/75/16 when these are done. I used to be a big BFG fan but after a couple sets of Coopers I have been converted.

Run the stock tires until they shit the bed. If necessary may switch up to Duratrac just for better mud performance on those few occasions where we are out in the mud off road. KO2s offer no performance improvement in mud over the Stock/OEM Goodyear Kevlar tires from my experience. Duratrac has the best of both worlds performance IMO. MOST all terrains are going to suck in the mud. That's where the hybrid design of the duratrac comes in.

I have yet to take the taco off road yet so I have no comment on their performance, but I had good luck with my Ko2s on my old Chevy. I am not in a lot of deep mud so what little mud I encountered they did great! My vehicle is my dd so I have a lot of pavement in my travel and I want something to hold up on road as well.

I have thought about going this route as they are only a couple of pounds heavier than the stock size, but I have always had ten plus as replacement tires and like the resilience of them just not the weight.

The mud we get here in AZ desert and high desert is not very deep but it is almost like a volcanic ash type maybe 2 or 3 inches deep and it is SLICKER than owl snot.

Oh ok. Out here in West Texas all of the agriculture guys like a taller skinnier tire to cut through the deep stuff down to hard ground.

    My wallet is empty
    265/70 R17 BFG KO2s

Discount Tire filled them to 40lbs. The sticker on the door says they should be at 29lbs for the stock (265/65 R17) Toyo tires. 40lbs seems like too much for daily driving. What tire pressure are folks running on these?

But all the cooper truck tires look good and they are American owned...I think they still are at least.
