Oh I have zero qualms with the quality. It just don't like the handling or braking. I also don't like the looks or small size, but that's largely because I'm a truck guy, and not into compact crossovers.

Well full disclosure, I don't like any fwd vehicles for myself because anything you need to do on them is a PITA, but I have to admit that imo the highlander and Rav4 seem to hold up real well for multiple years without issues and that's all that really matters to me in the end.

    Cheers!

OMG this thread is turning into the RAV4 forum LOL. Toyota, look what you have done to us! By the way, anyone know the largest size tires I can fit on my RAV4 without a lift? :)

    Nothing yet...
I just got back to work from my 10k and the service guy (young guy) said I was good and that they just checked it and re-torqued the bolts... he said he hasn't seen any tacomas that needed the recall (middle TN dealer).

Anyone from Bay Area California get the recall service done on your truck yet?

My truck has been at the dealer for two weeks now. Replacement parts are on backorder until further notice

After having my truck since may 4th, dealer finally called and said the recall has been done and it’s ready for pick up. I’m going to turn in the rental and pick it up tonight after work. Anything I should look out for to ensure the dealer did the recall properly? Reason I ask is I have the “Automatic” adapter and the automatic driving app. This adapter tells me when the truck is turned on and is being driven. The app shows the truck hasn’t been turned on or driven since May 4th. Therefore, I question if the dealer really did anything to the truck pertaining to the recall...

That is odd ... sounds like a good question for the manager.

I'd walk right in and pop up that app showing them just that.....and
ask for a new battery - over 2 months just sitting there? damn

Agreed with the above comments. But do you think there’s anything I should look out for to ensure the recall was done properly? I guess I should see if the bolts look new? Lol

See what they hand you first stating what work was done
and then go check. If your app says it hadn't been moved maybe
they just went out to the lot and re-torqued them?

Inspect the pumpkin good for any leftover seepage, basically should be dry and clean. I'd ask how low it was if they refilled it.

So I just got off the phone with my assigned service manager. Looks like I'm still not anywhere close to getting my truck back. He said they have 60-70 to work on, and that I'm just in the bottom third of his list (there's a separate list apparently for each service manager). Said it could be mid-August.

    Well hell. :(

All I know is that Toyota would be compensating me if they held my truck and were not able to put me in a comparable vehicle. Hope all you guys get your trucks back ASAP. It's good that Toyota is taking care of this, but being stuck in a crappy rental has got to be frustrating. I'm also curious what is going to happen with the offroads that are seeping/leaking.

I picked up my truck and it seems fixed. The pumpkin is dry and the bolts look brand new. The service advisor mentioned to me that contacting corporate seemed to work. Parts were expedited and they "moved" me to the top of the waiting list. Good luck to everyone on here.

Sigh... I noticed a puddle of oil under the rear diff when I got home. Idk if it's excess oil from when the technician was refilling the rear diff or it's leaking again. I inspected the pumpkin again and everything was dry. I'll keep an eye on it. Don't want to take it back and have it held there for another 2 months

How can it be dry if there a puddle under it?

Good question. I posted pictures of each side of the pumpkin. What do y'all think?

I'd document that by calling asap and let the Manager know what's going on. Tell him these earlier concerns too ...
