Man, at the very least, remove the fill plug and check the gear oil level, if you go in the truck.

Off topic but isn't Nissan coming out with an all new Frontier in 2018 ?

 

I don't know. I want my Toyota back. My 04 has been a good truck, but I am over the Nissan. They make them seriously difficult to work on.

 

I didn't even know it was a real thing, imma have to let my grandma know about it.

 

dealer told me my the gasket is in, but waiting for the bolts to come in.

 

I'm perusing the Rav4 forum right now, and the topics are every bit what I'd expect them to be.

 

Check out the prius forums lol. There is even a racing side to them.

 

Its fully loaded so that's nice lots of room also nice and has a V8 which is a gas hog about 15.5 mpg. Its a nice truck I would consider one but for $50K to own I am very happy with and miss my $25K Taco V4.

 

I had to go visit my truck being held hostage to grab some misc stuff that I left in there. I parked on one side of the dealership and walked to the service side. I counted about 25 3rd gen tacos parked--Windward Servco.

I asked my service advisor how many they were holding and they said their location had about 23 so my eyes were not trippin me. I was told 3 weeks. Okay we will see about that. He added that Mapunapuna was holding about 40-45.

In the mean time my loaner is not too bad. Relatively new Honda CRV. Gas mileage is really nice.

 

Eh that's not too bad. When I called today asking on a status update on mine, the service manager told me they have like 60-70. lol

Nissan just "introduced" the 2017.5. I can't tell anything different, unless it's something you can't see. Perhaps there's a delay with the next gen.

Mapunapuna actually has more than 80 held at sand island storage lot and I counted at least 25 at the dealership. It's not just the parts not here yet excuse, but not all the garage techs are certified to do the rear diff , only a handful

 

Thats what I thought--that there are a ton at the sand island lot. Just like how my service advisor said 3 weeks....no way. I expect to be driving my Honda CRV for awhile. I was standing right outside the exit of the service garage and I only saw 2 tacos inside (and not necessarily for RDs). The rest were parked in the lot that borders Honda Windward and there were like 2-3 on the McDonalds side.
