My family moved up here to be near some other relatives in 1974 the summer between my first and second grade school year. Yes I'm old. I have one daughter that graduated from Emory and Henry in 2014 and the younger one has 3 semesters left at Va Tech

I just caught all that re reading your first post. Tip from an old married guy they don't like being called your old lady. Respect and honesty and alot of work if you want it to last. I've been married over 30 years now and it's not always easy but worth every bit of it. The oldest daughter is in Ca rt now on a church mission but became a certified firefighter after she graduated college. She says when she gets beack she's going to either paramedic school or surgical assistant school she graduated with a bio degree and the dumbass was 1 class away from a second major in chemistry

Lol maybe when we are older than 20 it will bug her  And dang she should have taken 1 more class I'm sure she regrets it! Well if she decides on paramedic school WCU is the place to go. Its the most respected and modeled after paramedic program on this side of the country and maybe the whole country. WCU produces a lot of great paramedics.

I told her she should come home and get on as a professional firefighter hell she blew away her hazmat training. A female college degree in biology and chemistry around DC easy job as a firefighter and up here they start at around 70k a year and only work 12 days a month. she'd have plenty of time for school as well. Va has the hardest firefighter certs in the country and they're honored in every sate I believe

Yea I'm sure most of y'all's medics run out of fire stations also. Cross training usually pays pretty well. I think if you cross train down here you can make between 50-70

How far is school from Uhawrrie? You could do some good wheeling there or take your girl to Pisgah forest camping

Uwharrie is about 3 and a half hours so a good little haul. But for sure good wheeling there. And we go camping a lot. We go to a place called pinnacle point. About 7 miles straight up hike. IMG_3562.jpg IMG_3547.jpg

My wife and I just made an investment in looking at the overlanding lifestyle. Since it's just us we're hoping this leads to some interesting adventures.

It's an off road micro camper by Taxa called a Tiger moth
