For those of you who mentioned wanting to modify your headlights I found this, looks like @Coot83 has successfully modified these in the past. Just something to look at

I'll be damned...didnt think something like this would ever have a group buy. For those doing this, know that these come standard with HALOGEN projectors and not HID projectors. Yes, there is a difference between the two and the output of HIDs installed with the halogen projectors will not yield that great of results unless you retro. Just a warning for those hoping these might of had HID projectors in them. Once retro'd though, they are a good light with a unique look.

I had to have the lights redirecred to my work for a signature. Today is the first day that I have worked in a while.
Wow that box is ridiculous....weighs 20#'s.

Lights look cool though. I'll get them installed in one of the next few nights.

Sounds good man, if you havnt taken your lights out before then it might be a little bit of a process to get things off for the first time. The grille will pop out easily enough after you get all the screws up top on the engine bay and the few push pins down below at the bottom sides of them. Before you can totally remove the lights, there is a corner screw that attaches the base of the light to the fender itself internally. I took off some of the screws under the fender to make room to get my hand in there. Many don't know this and try to yank on their lights until they find this magic bolt.

After I swapped lights, I happily left these mystery bolts off my lights after for easier removal.

I have removed my front grill many times. I have never removed my headlights though. I recently watched somebody's retro how to on YouTube to see how to remove/install the headlights from the truck.
Is there ANY wiggle of your lights since you only have 2 of 3 bolts holding the lights in?

Nope because they also snap in at the bottom by a little clip that requires no fasteners and takes some muscle to pop out. Granted Im also a different animal though as I have LT and have glass fenders so the reinforcement for me isn't the same anymore.

I installed my lights after work today. Here are some pics I took of the lights.

This is the amber bulb that came in the housing.

Here is the additional white led that came with the headlights.

I defiantly like the look of the amber over the white personally. I found some of the amber lights in red that I am considering, to match the rest of the truck.

Mine have it where the DRL are on all the time whether any lights are engaged or not. Don't know if that is what you were asking though...

Looks good, I assume those are with halogens? How do you like the light output?

So you're DRLs are on even when the switch on the stalk is off??
The operation of the lights shouldn't be this confusing... did Toyota change the function of the lights for different model years? I see you have a '12 and I have a '13. When my stalk switch is set to off, I have NO lights at all.

Yep, but I think mine was like that from the get go maybe before the lights. I didn't realize my DRL were like this until I started wheeling and noticed my DRLs were ALWAYS on. Because of this I did the DTRL white/amber mod. It worked out nice, but because of these lights my LED strips on the bottom and the top of the lights are always on now. Atleast Im all white now and I like the color of the amber blinkers over the stock bulbs.

With that being said, when I was setting up my DTRL, I did indentify that I had an additional circuit in the my blinker wiring to the relay so I very well could of been from a different build type as from what I understand some of the 2012's got this and others didn't. Mine was originally a dealer demo Baja so I don't know if that has a factor in it. Weird for sure.

Correct. Looking the setup and wires, it looks fairly easy to make the led strips work with the DRL. just need to cut and SPlice 2 wires.

They are the exact bulbs that came installed. I. Not a huge fan of HID's.

Ah ok any reason why? I got HIDs shortly after getting these and especially after the retro I am the "light" on the road. It would be cool to compare what these put out with the halogen set up after being used to my lights at this point.

I bet I could walk you through which two wires as well if you wanted to do this as that is exactly what you do for the DTRL mod.

I have seen and been blinded by so.many crappy hid setups that people have installed in their vehicles. I don't want to be the asshole on the road that is blinding people. I am in full support of factory HIDs though.
