Look at the bright side , at least Windward hooked you up with a Honda CRV and didn't give you a Corolla courtesy loaner with that printed on the doors..

FYI folks, Toyota of Sunnyvale just returned my Tacoma yesterday. It was held hostage from May 24th to July 11th. Apparently, mine had lost under 2 liters of lubricant, so just new gaskets and bolts - fill 'er up and send ur out! I had to shame them into a detail before I picked it up, as they first said that their car wash was out of service. (I asked, "So, if I bought a new Tacoma today you would deliver it as dirty as mine was after sitting out in their parking lot for 7 weeks of brutal sun, wind and smog?" The guy called me back an hour later and said he found a way to get it detailed for me before I picked it up! I also got the TSB for the Intermittent Trip Odometer Reset issue performed. That leaves just the Crankshaft Position Sensor recall to complete!
In all fairness, my complimentary supplied loaner of a 2017 Tacoma Limited was a fine ride! Good dealership, in spite of a few hiccups.

what is the fix for the odometer?
i have that problem. because its intermittent
and happens only once in a while and they can
never duplicate it, they wont do anything.

I would hope they are for their sake, the current Frontier has not changed (style) in a LONG time.

Last night I cleaned off the excess oil and put cardboard under my rear diff. This morning, no oil. I guess the dealer did fix it. Yay!!!!

Has anyone done a wellness check on their truck in person yet? Even if just to see it again? lol

Lol as much of a cluster F this whole situation has been, I wouldn’t be surprise if it did all leaked out.

Sigh... before I left the house to start my shitty day, I noticed a small puddle again. I looked under the truck and noticed it’s leaking a small amount from the fill port. Guess I could retorque the bolt whenever I get a chance. Anyone know what size socket is needed? I tried a 21 just now cause that’s all I had with me and it didn’t fit lol

Mine goes in tomorrow morning for the recall. I have not see anything leaking from mine, so hopefully it is a quick in and out.

I have not. Been in for 3 weeks. I called this morning and said parts are now back ordered with no time frame. I was told end of the month about a week ago.

It's been 57 days. Still no word on parts. Jim Lentz's office assistant called Tuesday July 11th, said she would call dealership to find out what the delay was???. Of course she's now on vacation and I can't get a hold of her. I was told parts would be in July 3rd. That was horse sh-t. So much for summer with my Tacoma.

Wow this is really turning out to be a much bigger mess than I would've expected from Toyota. Seems very disorganized. I thought after everything Toyota went through with recalls over the years they would be very smooth with this process .

Im about a month and a half in already and my truck is still just sitting and collecting dust. The dealership i'm dealing with is Toyota Vallejo. Its a real circus to be honest. So far I've heard from the dealership that it'll take 6-8 months for the repair. Toyota corporate denies that but cannot give me any real world number on time frame. I've received numerous replies both from corporate and local dealer and i'm sorry, its a real shit show. So far my truck has been reassigned a new case number a total of 3 times now. Got a call yesterday from a case manager who promised to contact the dealership and expedite the process (we'll see how this goes). Oh and if you are waiting on a case manager to call, good luck. Have your phone glued to your hands because if you missed the call, you'll get a voicemail and automated email stating "sorry i was not able to reach you blah blah blah, please contact me at 1-800-bla-blah ext:blah. Trying to get a hold of your case manager is like trying to win Justin Bieber tickets for your daughter by calling your local radio station (which is near impossible). They only call once a day and are not required to call you back on the same day. oh and i wondered why i got emails stating they tried to contact me to no avail, they had a completely different number! An area code i was not even familiar with. So if i didn't check, I would've been waiting forever to speak with a case manager.

I completely understand that their are thousands of repairs waiting to be done and how that may cause some parts and resource shortage, but hearing different stories everytime you speak with someone is getting ridiculous! I even had someone tell me that they know as much as I do, and he works at the service department! oh well. rant over.

Update: My dealer had my truck since May 5th and I just got the truck back last Thursday. Thank god I have 100K warranty and the fluid wasn't low enough to replace the differential carrier.

I sure hope Toyota sorts all this out not only for the owners but for Toyota as a company. Toyota has always stood on their quality mantra, and the issues with these trucks would seem to me to put a big dent in the quality theme. Remember the slogan, "Toyota, Oh What a Feeling!"? What are the owners of these trucks feeling now-a-days? Maybe it is not as bad as it seems, I know how the negativity floats to the top on forums like these.
I have owned many German automobiles over the years, love the performance but hated the repair bills. They were never a Toyota in terms of get in and drive reliability. That line does not seem to be as clear now.
I currently drive a 2003 Tacoma SR5 extended cab 5 speed 2.7 with close to 220K miles on her. Short of the rusty frame fiasco created by the American company Dana my truck has been perfect and I intend to drive to at least 400K. That is why I bough a Toyota.

Are these days gone for good in this throw away society?
