I have problems with my retard strength. I always over tighten, my big hands always cut or bend clips & it's Julie's daily driver now.
    Too much stress.

I did my rears by myself. A pita for sure but not that hard. Jackstands and a small floorjack are key.

    I used this Otc tool.
Tighten the bolt with a little pressure/tension and use a hammer to break the ball joint loose.

It's not that hard, it's the longer brake lines that fucked me up

The only PITA i ran into when i did mine was the Lower ball joint, just rent the puller from vatozone it'll make life easier! You can find all kinds of info online for bleeding your brakes too, pretty easy imo. When are planning on doing it? I don't mind taking a drive to help out, i only have sunday open this weekend though.

What also help is a long pry bar placed under the upper control and the flat blade of pry bar place high up on the coil spring and apply upward pressure will hitting with hammer.

Also don't completely remove the ball joint castle nut. Just back it off til. Flush with stud. So that way if you miss with the hammer the threads doesn't get all jacked up.

Like stated above, upper ball joint is easy with the hammer and I also had to use the tool shown to remove the lower ball joint. The stock brake line measures 10" and I bought all pro brake lines that measured 12". That is way too short for the lift spindles. I ended up buying the extended length brake lines from @HeadStrong Off-Road and those are the perfect length.

For the rear I have tsb leaf packs with 3 pack aal and my stock brake lines were too short. I replaced those as well.

As far as install for the spindles, maxtrac has a step by step process that you can download. It's great because it also includes pictures which makes it easier to understand.

Overall it's an easy process (as long as you have the step by step instructions) but just time consuming

Don't forget to mark your alignment bolts that way you can be pretty close when you're all done so you can drive it to the alignment shop

Speaking of alignment, so just FYI to any new Tacoma owners. Called the service department at Crown Toyota asking about alignment and they told me you have 1 year or 12,000 miles to have your alignment done if anything is off at no charge. Looks like I'm going Off Roading again before my 10,000 mile service. :woot:

    ^^^ this ^^^^

Don't remove the lower balljoint. Just remove the 2 19mm bolts. They will need to be removed reguardless. Nothing is really gained by removing the lower ball joint all you do is risk damaging it for no reason.
