A second gen Taco would probably be the best option. Tundra is simply too big and too heavy to be able to keep up with the Tacoma imo

Yes, they I had the alignment done but the popping was happening before the alignment. Happened after PINS so I'm worried I may have taken out a bushing or a tie-rod, I was having a little too much fun in the ruts.

Yes Sir! That was me, I didn't get to tighten the cam bolts and I couldn't reproduce any noise rocking the struck. I could only reproduce some of the noise while breaking from reverse to forward, but not the pop I keep hearing lock to lock while off road. Charles Maund is right down the street from where I work. The service manager took a ride with me, I made him drive and he thinks it's a joint in the steering column down to the rack. I'll find out more when they call me back.

Trust me, I hate the dealer as much as anyone but I don't feel like driving down to AutoNation now that my favorite service adviser no longer works there. I'll be in touch depending on what they say or do, I still have your cards in my truck.

No, it was Ashley Otto though Grey Coy helped me when I first bough the truck and the battery shorted within a day, he asked if I liked having the camper because he was looking at one.

Over at Charles Maund I usually ask for Kevin Coyne so he and I can talk Autocross for 15 minutes.

Yeah. I considered the trailer but I am concerned about that while driving through Latin America. I have read that it makes you a target.

My plan was to live out of the cabin. Make the rear seats flat or remove them all together. The space should allow me to put a make shift bed in there. I'm a compact guy :)
The bed was going to be a work area. I would set up my laptop/office there. I would also use it for solar power/batteries/shower/other gear. I don't want an RTT. I think they are cool for the camper but not exactly something you should set up in a Walmart parking lot or truck stop, let alone a foreign country. So I'm not sold on either the taco or the tundra. I am just inquiring since MPG would be a wash on a loaded Taco. I want a taco, but I need to be logical about it. I don't want to come back early just to rebuild.

Yeah, I may play dumb and nice, but they minute they try to pull something on me it's not going to end well. I've seen a lifted TACO with a nice bumper parked back in the Service Area, I hope it's one of the tech's and I get the right set of hands on it. I was actually happy the service manager drove and felt the issue I was describing. At least I have that in my pocket.

I hate to say this but for the sake of being self sufficient and sleeping in the truck rather in a tent or Trailer, I would look at a 4runner with a sleeping platform. That or a ruggedized tear-drop/cargo camper.

Doesn't matter what the tech says brotha. Service managers get paid on bonuses. In Wes' (head of the service dept, tied #2 head honcho at the dealer) there's a white board with all the service people's monthly floors that they have to hit in sales

Towing our pop up with my 4Runner sucked the first time I did it. I was headed into the wind and up and down hills and ended up with 10MPG.
