To get the reimbursement you have to send a copy of your receipt for the sensor, along with a letter that includes your VIN and a reference to the recall number to:
    Toyota Motor Sales USA
    Toyota reimbursement
    PO Box 259001
    Plano, TX 75025.

This was relayed to you by your dealer when you went in for the aforementioned 20k service? Also, since Toyota has some liability here, did they do anything to confirm the installation of the replacement sensor or did they go ahead and install one anyway just to cover themselves and you can still get the refund?

I had already researched through the NHTSA website that I was owed the refund. My dealership just hooked me up with the contact to do it. They did include on the service order information about the recall and that I did it myself. Service manager said that the information on the order would be passed along to Toyota corp via Toyota computer so Toyota would have a permanent record of the replacement. I am going to send a copy along with my receipt to Toyota reimbursement, to get my money back. nimage.jpg they did not install another sensor but I did show them the old one I took out.

I've been periodically checking my VIN on the web to see if I'm on the CPS recall - nope. Build date 09/15, Texas plant.

Have ANY Canadian owners gotten the CPS recall?

I went in tuesday 4th with an appointment to check both recalls they did the rear end and told me that for the crankshaft sensor I would have to wait for the notification I guess without the letter they would not get paid for warranty repairs.

Just called down to Stevenson Toyota west here in Golden Colorado to schedule the recall to replace the CPS and they dont have a fix for it yet. Are you kidding me? If its just a matter of replacing the CPS why has Toyota not giving the dealers the OK to start replacing them? I would hate to be stranded on a trail in the middle of nowhere! Also, If i go ahead and buy one and replace it myself, how do I know if it's the revised CSP version? I wanted to get this done before my OVtune arrives, ugg.

I ordered from McGeorge Online Toyota Parts and a few others have and they show an April '17 build date of the part from what I've seen. But if they are saying they don't have a fix yet, it could be either parts availability (if they need 30,000 of them and are awaiting manufacturing) OR - more troubling, the problem as stated in the recall is related to the crankshaft rotor itself. In which case it has been theorized that even replacing your CKP may, over time, exhibit the same issues as the excessive anticorrosive degrades the CKP.

I have over 2k miles now post replacement on mine - it's just not the same truck (in a good way). I hope it sticks, but man if it had driven like this from day one I'd be more in the fanboy club than the pissed off taken advantage of club of 3rd gen owners....

I stopped by my local dealer yesterday to order a new CPS just for a piece of mind. After the parts guy looked it up he was unable to order one because the computer said, "zero in the country". He did say that a "massive" shipment was en route to the states with no estimated time of distribution.

Too many to list... let's just say I hated my truck and wanted to sell it. Now I love it. Better throttle response, seems to breath better, my wonky steering is normal now, my MPGs have increased by over 10-15%, and I actually rarely EVER feel the need to drive in anything other than D. before I felt like I was driving a crappy truck (almost felt like it had a LOT of miles on it at times...) and now it drives like I expect a new truck to.

My vibes aren't even as bad now, making me think the overly rich condition was screwing with my exhaust/cats which may be clearing up some.

    New update
So my 16 sport has been in since May 29 for both recalls. My dealer/advisor suck at getting this issue resolved. They haven't called me once in 2 months and was originally told mid July for the fix. Called them Friday and the advisor told me mid august. LUCKILY as per North Carolina lemon law, after 20 business days I am eligible for it. My lawyer sent Toyota all my info to start investigation and was contacted yesterday. Toyota is shipping the parts just for my truck to the dealer along with having one of their field technicians install. Should be ready by July 25. If you want something done don't rely on the dealer.

Does anyone have a pic of this? This is what mine looks like, which has me a little worried.
