    That's pretty dead on.

    I shattered the back glass on my old Leer 100R trying to reinforce the hinge. The pot metal on the hinge was cracking around the rivets, so I was drilling a hole at the end of the crack and adding additional riveting. I ended up drilling in too far since I only felt the bit go trough one piece of metal. On the edges where the hinge was raised off the frame I felt two distinct breakthroughs, but with the center they were tight enough together there was only a single bump. Naturally I kept drilling since I didn't feel the second one (and I'm an idiot) and went right into the glass and shattered it.

    Local Leer dealer near me replaced the whole back door (frame and glass) for $370 out the door.
