I'm thinking of Bilsteins, but I've heard that simply setting the 5100's at 2.5 will give me a harsh ride... Any other suggestions (besides King/FOX)? I drive city mainly, some highway, and moderate off-roading about once a month if not once ever 2 months. I got 5500 miles on my Tacoma so far, I'm planning on getting 285's wrapped around 16's, as well as some armor perhaps (full underbody, hybrid front bumper w/ winch). I'm kinda all confused abouts EMU's (?), leveling kits, AAl's, and coilovers... ETC.... Teach me:)

    Thanks :D

Suggest you do not go over 3". In fact a 2" lift is plenty and will avoid a lot of headaches down the road.

Why do you feel you need 3" to 4" of lift?

Lift alone will not fit 285s without rubbing.

What are your planned uses for the truck? On road only? Some off road?

See the write up in my sig below for a great performing and riding lift that will cost you ~$1,500 in parts and you can get 2" from it.

You don't need 3 or 4" to fit 285s. In fact you can run 285s at stock height. It will rub in either case without a CMC though.

This is correct. Lift isn't the issue. Wheel spacing/offset, alignment, etc play a bigger role than the lift itself. Plan to trim plastic and do cab mount chop if you want to Wheel with 285s and not rub.

What would my setup require for said 285's (in regards to wheel spacing/offset) anyone with a similiar set up?

See my sig for a link that will answer the question. Too many variables to say for sure. You'll need to be prepared to trim and cut as said before.
