Yesterday I had what my mom wrote to me on the last birthday card she would ever send to me. It'll be a year on the 17th of this month since she passed.
It's only my second one and they're both special to me.
My first is my dad's signature from a plaque he had on his desk for I don't know how many years. That was also done a year after he passed.

I Finished my half sleeve about 4-5 months ago on my right arm. I now want to do one more tattoo then I'm done. A full sleeve on my left arm.
I have been looking for several weeks for an idea and I ran across this, the tattoo on the Left. I really do not want any color only Black & Grey but this tat has really stuck in my mind. The tattoo on the left is the one I want but I want to add the sword to it like on the right tattoo. What do you think of this?
How do you guys think this would look in just Black and Grey? I'm not overly fond of Red but if I did do it in color should I stick with the Red or is there another color that would work? Your input is greatly appreciated.

I think maybe also. The only thing that would change would be the leaves.

The red really pops off the skin. And actually makes the black and grey more vivid.

Yes, the Red does make the Black and Grey more vivid. But I'm just not a huge fan of Red. Wounder what other color would do the same. Orange, Gold?
I love the way the Blue and Green looks in the tattoos below. But not I'm not to sure how it would look on leaves.

A subdued green would look leafish, but the issue with those leaves is that that are Japanese Maple leaves and are supposed to be red. Any color done with that type of shading will look great IMO. What is the name of the artist who did those? His work is incredible.

    See^^ He know's..

This is true, most Japanese maple leaf tattoos are solid red, however there can be some varience.

But Red and Black will pop for a life time. Blue and Black tend to fade into each other relatively easily. Unless done properly, and even done so, they have a chance of being lost if the tattoo isn't attended to once completed.

Another option is replace the maple leaves with something such an a blue orchid, or some other flora design.. Please hold lemme find some stuff.

    Different flower ^^
    More orange

then solid red in maple leaves vv

    Yellow and Green:

Just some ideas.. I'm not on my personal so my options for images are limited.
