    I've been trying to calculate which is cheaper..

    1) Tirerack.com and order tires and have them delivered to a local installer..

    or

    2) Look for a local deal somewhere around here (looking for recommendations provided by TW members.)

    Input?

    Discount Tires or America's Tire...........also check discounttiredirect.com same as discount tire, but their online company(surprisingly prices differ sometimes). free shipping and price matching.

    I was battling this decision for a couple months and after many calls to local and non local shops I decided to buy them from tirerack. OTD with shipping my firestone destination cost me $595 I found a tire shop that will mount and balance them for $15 bucks each. The lowest quote I found was for $780 OTD. I saved $125. The only thing I didnt try was asking if they would price match Tirerack, screwed that one up. all in all I would have to wait for the tires locally or get my tires in three days with tirerack.

    thanks for this recommendation.. i'm hoping they'll honor the price match from what i found on TireRack.com

    Overall, DT seems to be the better deal due to free shipping..

    Thanks!

    I bought from Tire rack a few weeks ago. It wasn't bad at all. Ordered the tires, and they were delivered the next week. I also ordered wheels, so I didnt have to worry about the installer part. Everything worked great.

    I buy from TireRack but I know that Sears will price match TireRack. Of course I just pick them up myself so I also save on shipping.

    FANTASTIC! Just got off the phone with DiscountTireDirect.com and had they offered me a better deal than TireRack.com (after shipping)..

    TireRack.com --> $418 after shipping
    DiscountTire --> $380 FLAT (free shipping)

    I'm satisfied. You can either fill out their survey or call Telin @ 800-589-6789 (ext 51874). FYI: They're located in AZ (tax purposes)

    Great for you! I just bought my dad a set of tires for his truck last weekend. $684 at Discount. They are serious about what they say, "We will not be undersold." Sears would have set me back over $800 on the same tires.

    I can easily say that they are one of a few companies left that takes customer service seriously. I have bought my last 4 sets of tires from them (all different locations) and have recieved top notch service at all of them.
